  • "We have been working up here since the 6th of January and knowing we had a lovely place to back to has made working away so much better the owners are absolutely fabulous and leave you to enjoy your stay and really look after their small holding."

It’s very quiet and a short trip to the shops and easy to get to off the motorway. They’re also a great village pub a short walk away. We will be back in the new year

  • "We found the cottage to be warm and comfortable and set within great countryside."

The building is modern and was very clean with good on-site secure parking. The location was very convenient for access to Durham and the wider coastal area. The owners were both welcoming and hospitable (with some tips on good local pubs and amenities) - and on leaving gave us some home grown vegetables to take away, which we very much enjoyed on our return home.

  • "We had a fabulous time at Bracken Cottage, it was just what we needed to help coming out of lockdown and provide a much needed getaway."

We also wanted a cottage near the north east coast and was in an ideal position, good enough to be away from crowds and yet only a 15 minute drive to the sea, fish and chips and shops. The cottage was immaculate, quiet and comfy. Ian was a great host and we enjoyed the wonderful eggs available to buy from his own hens. We even took some home. We would recommend the cottage and are planning another visit soon:.

We asked for an iron and within 5 minutes had that and an ironing board. Would recommend getting the delivered oj and milk from local dairy. Great base for exploring North East
