Only point , as a bit of a techno addict a more modern tv with screen mirroring would be appreciated then our own Netflix etc could be viewed on screen .

  • "Stayed here at the beginning of August 2021."

Lovely first floor apartment. Tracey (the owner) was very helpful and gave us some information on the best places to go. Reeth itself is a great place to stay if you're after a quiet time. The river nearby kept the boys happy for hours and the walk up the hill was just right for an 8 and 11 year old. The table tennis table and pool table were great to keep the boys occupied when we were back at the house. The Copper Kettle next door does the best ploughmans ever.

Amazing walks and views everywhere you turn. The cafes especially the Copper Kettle next door to us was lovely. The Kings Arms pub where we had dinner one night also very good. Everyone around you very friendly. The cottage was lovely and the host was very helpful. Highly recommend the area and the cottage.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Alpine Cottage."

Tracey was a great host; we felt she was there whenever we needed, and very helpful, but it didn't ever feel like she was intruding on us. The kitchen facilities are great, the bed is really comfortable, and the log burner is very warm. Our dog absolutely loves Tracey too! Having the Copper Kettle café right next door is a big bonus, with gluten free and vegan options. It's no trouble to get round to the garden for toilet breaks for the dog, but the green right outside the front door is a very easy option. The garden is lovely, and a sun trap throughout the day (as long as the sun is out!). There are so many walks to explore and plenty of guidebooks in the cottage, but Tracey is also very knowledgeable on walks and places to visit. We would definitely stay here again. Thank-you!

The apartment is very comfortable and ideal for couples or families. We felt very welcome here in Reeth and therefore very relaxed. The village has a selection of cosy pubs and a lovely café with great food, and there are some amazing little shops selling gorgeous handmade crafts and clothing, e.g. embroidered cushions, table runners, hats, artwork, jewellery, felted items, crochet pieces - all made to the highest quality.

  • "We had an amazing time."

The cottage was great. Very warm an cosy. We had everything we needed and the owner Tracy was amazing. We had home made flapjack on arrival which was very nice and a lovely gesture. Nothing was too much trouble. She even set up the hot tub ready for us to go in when we got back from where ever we had been that day. We just had to get it in :) she recommended a few places to go and we had a great time. Our dog Alfie loved the walks up the hills and had great time also. The village Reeth is a beautiful place. The people living in Reeth were very kind where ever we went. cafe's, shops and pubs. We had some great meals. The only thing we didn't have chance to do is go in the ice-cream shop.

About the location

REETH

Leyburn 8 miles; Richmond 11 miles; Barnard Castle 15 miles; Kirkby Stephen 22 miles.

The pretty, ever-popular village of Reeth rests at the northern tip of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where Arkengarthdale and Swaledale meet, nestled between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge and Harkerside. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with lovely rolling hills and spectacular views, Reeth boasts a colourful history as it was originally a Saxon settlement, and has also been known as a lead mining town and a centre for hand knitting throughout its time. Both trades are proudly featured in the Swaledale Museum, located alongside a good range of shops, tea rooms and restaurants. For a quaint little community, Reeth is well-served by traditional inns, with three to choose from, including the lovely Buck Hotel, whitewashed like so many of the 18th century cottages huddled around the triangular village green. The historic market towns of Richmond and Leyburn are also within easy reach, offering a further selection of amenities. Askrigg is just a short drive away, as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft). Reeth offers a fantastic base for exploring North Yorkshire's beautiful, sweeping countryside, whether you choose to discover the caves, cliffs, waterfalls or the plethora of walking and cycling routes that circle this vibrant and varied landscape.
