  • "We had an absolutely lovely week at 45 South Green."

The property was spotless, very quiet and comfortable, and the beautiful garden was a great bonus - we spent as much time out there as possible! Waking up on our first morning to find the village fete right outside our front door was an unexpected (and completely charming) pleasure. We would happily stay at this property again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. You certainly my were lucky to be there while the Staindrop Carnival was on. We hope to welcome you again soon. Kate Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in this well kept very homely beautiful cottage."

We arrived on a Friday and we had a text off the owner to say it was ready about 2 pm. She also told us about a fish and chip van that comes on a Friday late afternoon until 8 pm. So we had fish chips twice and they where delicious. Everything you need for a comfortable home from home.

About the location

STAINDROP

Barnard Castle 5 miles; Durham 20 miles.

The pretty Teesdale village of Staindrop has always been closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle and its owners. The Castle (open to the public) is one of the most grand in England. Enlarged and beautified over the centuries, the medieval heart remains and a walled garden and 200 acre deer park add to the splendour. Staindrop has many interesting shops, pubs and cafes set round its long village green. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is 5 miles away, with its castle, the Bowes Museum, plus of course its wide range of shops and tea rooms. Walkers will enjoy the many walks around Teesdale.
