"Lovely spacious cottage , very clean !"
Only downside is lack of facilities in the village , would advise doing a food shop before arriving , as only a very small spar shop in the village . Also need to drive to find restaurants /take away goods , as tea shop only open 10-3pm.

"So glad to have found this wonderful holiday let."
It was the most clean, comfortable, spacious, well decorated and homely place we have ever stayed in. The home is truly beautiful with everything you could possibly need for a cosy stay. It is well equipped, with lots of extra touches which make it extra special. Communication was excellent and check in was easy. The village is lovely and the location of the house is perfect. Thank you. We had a wonderful family break.

"What a fabulous property this is we had a lovely week in this delightful historic village."
The cottage is top notch so well equipped, spacious and tastefully decorated it really is a beautiful home. The beds are super comfy too so a good nights sleep was had by all.
We would definitely stay again and explore the area further we had a trip to the reservoirs, High Force, Beamish, Middleton in Teesdale to mention a few but lots more to see.
One of the best cottages we’ve stayed in.

There was lots to see and do in the surrounding area but also lovely walks straight out of the front door.

"What a beautiful cottage!"
Such a restful, homely, and attractive property with careful attention to detail throughout. The master bedroom is a total treat and all the beds were super comfortable. We loved the village and the locality, filled with great places to walk and eat. We would definitely recommend Deanery View!

"We did love this house, furnishings and Christmas decorations are beautiful."
We left really postive feedback in the guest book but wanted to mention a few things, both the front and back door of this property can be very difficult to open, in an emergency situation getting out in a hurry could be a problem. Gas oven numbers that denote gas mark had worn away so tricky to know how to use, no notes or guidance. Dirty mark possibly from animal under master bed, small toy also der bed and cloth left on the stairs. Lovely property with small improvements would be perfect - thank you.

Apologies for the delay in replying to your comments and thank you for taking the time to review our property and offer feedback. We visited the property in early January for repairs and maintenance and the doors seemed fine, it was possibly due to the intense rain in the area which made the doors swell, we have since had a visit from a fire safety officer who has confirmed there is no safety issue, if there was an emergency, as the doors opened easily. The oven had been ordered and was replaced whilst we were there, unfortunately, this was the week after your visit so should now be resolved and we apologise that you could not benefit from this. We have raised the potential mark under the bed with the housekeeper, when the bed was pulled out there was no mark visible, and a forward plan of action to ensure the house is kept up to a high standard of cleanliness has been put in place.
We are really pleased you liked our property and hopefully we have made some of the necessary improvements to make our property a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the future.

"Cottage was very comfortable, warm and clean."
Lovely furnishings in the cottage as well.Plenty of room for 5 of us and our grandson loved the wee sitting room complete with huge telly and good selection of dvd,s. Nice private courtyard with lights but sorry we could not take advantage of same due to the weather.Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

We are pleased our holiday home was to your liking and you used some of the dvd's, it would be nice if you could have enjoyed the outdoor space, maybe another visit in the warmer months is on the cards. The surrounding area could also be enjoyed, especially the Durham Dales.

"This is a lovely house to stay in."
It is really tastefully furnished, comfortable and homely.
All of the furniture, including the beds, is very comfortable.
The property was spotlessly clean throughout.
The kitchen is well equipped and the courtyard garden is a peaceful secluded place in which to relax.
Parking was easy, right outside the front door.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
The dog welcome was a thoughtful added extra.
I would definitely return and stay again.

"Just had a lovely week at Deanery View."
The house is really well equipped, from games and jigsaws to everything needed in the kitchen. Great communication from the owners throughout, including a list of dog friendly places to eat nearby.

"We have just returned from a wonderful Easter break at Deanery View!"

"We all really enjoyed our Christmas break at Deanery View, it was beautifully furnished ,and decorated with a large Xmas tree etc."
It’s well equipped with everything you need for your stay ,the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and really comfortable.
My only issue was the heating system it was lovely and cosy ,but when I turned it down before going to bed to 9.5 it still came on very early in the morning and the pipes were rattling which kept me awake as am a very light sleeper.
Other than that I would recommend your cottage .

"We were very impressed with this holiday cottage."
It was so spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The outside space is a lovely relaxing, tranquil retreat too and especially when the lights are all lit up on an evening. It looks so pretty, my daughter loved staying up til it got dark to see the lights on. We would love to revisit Deanery View, we are regular customers with Sykes and stayed in quite a few properties now but this has been our favourite.

"Everything about our stay was wonderful."
The cottage was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you'd need, including spare dog bowls. The local village is lovely and has a nice cafe for lunch just a short walk away. Raby castle is just 5 minutes drive away too, with a lovely, quiet estate walk available if you have dogs.

"Deanery View is a beautiful property."
Furnished to a very high level, plenty of space for a family of five plus dog, parking directly outside and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
If we were to make a return visit to County Durham we would definitely stay here again.
