Comfortable beds. Beautiful kitchen. Easy to operate heating dial. The owner Julia very helpful and friendly on phone. Thanks for the Easter egg left for us on arrival. We’d love to stay here again.

  • "Fabulous property."

My mum is 73 and would have definitely benefited from a hand rail on the stairs. That’s our only comment on what was a lovely property. Thank you.

  • "A lovely property - well decorated and very clean."

Lovely furnishings and a very comfortable stay. The only thing missing was a few items we expected to be provided - oven gloves, potato masher, heatproof glove for the fire, spare candles, hand soap in kitchen/ bathroom etc. (we left a masher, new peeler, fire glove and hand soap). Overall though a really lovely stay and we would definitely come again!

  • "10/10 This is such a Lovely and Warm cottage."

Everything you would need is within the house . Its decorated to such a high standard and all the appliances within the kitchen are top end, it has nice wee touches such as a very impressive expresso coffee machine !! We have been using Skye’s properties for sometime now and by far this one has been the cleanest we have stayed in and everything is perfect!! For that we would score it 10/10. It’s so handy to the town we were only there for a few days and never used the car once as so much to see in the town and lovely walks and very handy to all the pubs and restaurants which are very dog friendly. Julia is a fantastic host and is very friendly and wants her guest to have a very enjoyable and relaxing time. We are returning back here again next year again

Julia was very welcoming and willing to do anything to make our stay more enjoyable. The location is great and there are wonderful walks by the castle and down by the river. Would recommend it to anyone.

  • "Beautifully done cottage with everything you could need, and a wonderful log burner to keep you cosy."

Perfect location for a family break.

  • "The house is in a fantastic location for Barnard Castle, and is on a side street away from the high street, and within very easy reach."

Barnard Castle itself had a fabulous high street and bustling shops, there were great eateries and everything you should need. As well as being on the Teesdale Way, there is also a plethora of walking routes and footpaths straight from the front door. The house was stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The cost was on the high side and a few tasks do need to be finished off (handle on the bathroom window, lock on the bathroom door, mirror in the small room, long length mirror somewhere). A couple of items needed in the kitchen would be a tray, wine and bottle opener. There were only 4 mugs, which is appropriate for the guests, but did mean you had to wash them up after every use. Julia made us very welcome and made herself very approachable for any queries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the house for anyone looking in the area.
