  • "The property was clean and well equipped and in a very convenient location, 2 minutes from free parking and the high street facilities."

Comfy bed and good shower. The living area was light and generally good. The only issue I had was that, having booked a dog free property due to my allergies, the cushions on sofa had feathers which I am allergic to, so had to put these in the downstairs cupboard for the duration.

  • "Excellent stay at 'The Print Shop' in Barnard's Castle."

A lovely tiny upside down house that has made good use of the limited space and perfect for one! Very clean when I arrived with fresh milk in the fridge and a great spot for the town centre and castle / other attractions. Despite being surrounded by other buildings, it was very quiet at night and felt very safe. There was one incident with the bathroom radiator leaking which I reported and within half an hour, the owners had arranged to come and repair it, so a really impressive response too. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

About the location

BARNARD CASTLE

Staindrop 6 miles; Richmond 13 miles; Darlington 16 miles; Durham 20 miles.

The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Known affectionately as 'Barney’ by residents and visitors alike, the town boasts cobble streets, yards and back lanes, which were first laid out in the 12th century. The nearby Bowes Museum is well worth a visit and a wonderful way to spend a day wandering around this beautiful building and experiencing the fascinating exhibitions. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep of this lovely market town, with woodland walks and cycle routes and the Lake District, the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, and the River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.
