The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in and extremely comfortable with every facility you could need. Very centrally placed. Beamish, Durham and plenty of beautiful countryside within half an hour or so's drive. Lots of walls lovely too. The local people are very friendly. Would definitely recommend and would return again if visiting the area. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful week at Mill Cottage. Julie met us at the cottage and showed us how everything worked and gave some advice on local attractions. The cottage was lovely and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay, including some lovely treats! The weather was a bit mixed but we enjoyed local trips around the Durham dales and towns, particularly enjoying locomotion at shildon and the excellent art gallery at spennymoor. We also travelled to the coast and really enjoyed Souter lighthouse, the Sunderland glass museum and lots of seaglass hunting at seaham. We will definitely return, the area is beautiful with so much to do.

Brilliant hostess, thankyou for the goodies. Parked outside on street fine. Very clean and tidy. Had lots of kitchen items so you can easily make meals or eat out locally in an abundance of nearby eateries. Super impressed to find washing up liquid, hand washes, soaps, tea towels, dish cloths, plenty of toilet roll, toiletries, hairdryer, washing line. We made very good use of the brolly and clothes maid which we definitely needed the super wet week we had. Some hooks to hang up to dry our wet coats would be good maybe over the kitchen radiator, it'd be useful for dry coats too. We'd love to come back again and revisit some attractions as well as try some new ones we couldn't fit into our week at Mill Cottage. It's an excellent location a very short walk to the shops, play area and river.

Thank you for sending your feedback. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and were happy with the cottage. Hopefully if you ever have a return visit the weather will be more favourable ! Julie. Property Owner

A great base to explore the local area, particularly if you enjoy hiking - a wide range of walks from the house or a short drive away. The garden is a lovely peaceful sun trap with swifts flying overhead. The road outside is busy and can be noisy during the day but it's quiet at night. Easily accessible by public transport from Durham or Bishop Auckland. I loved it and will be back to do more exploring! Thanks to Julie for the warm welcome and delicious treats.

Wolsingham is a great location, short drive to lots of places of interest. Pleasant village with some facilities like a bakery and a coffee shop. Italian restaurant a few steps from Mill Cottage. The cottage is spick and span, fully re-furbished not long ago. Every possible facility and the owner (who lives just over the road) has thought of everything. One word of warning: this is an old building so some of the doors are low and the upstairs bathroom has a very low ceiling. Highly recommended.

It's very clean and comfortable, and very well-equipped. We were very grateful as well for the collection of goodies left by the owner; we always bring basics like tea and milk, as we've been stranded before, but the chocolates and wine exceeded our expectations! Wolsingham is a beautiful village, and there are some terrific walks in the neighbourhood. Not all the amenities (such as the pub) were open because of the partial lifting of the COVID regulations; but there is a very well-stocked local shop,an independent bakery and an excellent Italian restaurant, 'Buon Appetito', only two doors down from the cottage, where we were able to eat at an outside terrace. Nice little outside area which was something of a sun trap and we spent as much time as possible out there enjoying a cup of tea or something stronger. • "A beautiful cottage , with high quality furnishings and every possible item needed for a relaxing holiday or short break."

We were surprised at the welcoming basket of goodies, and necessities usually only found in expensive hotels, like toiletries, tissues, sachets for washing machine and dishwasher, washing liquid, tea and coffee, milk and wine in the fridge ! The photos on website do not do this property full justice as we told the owner . Do hope others will enjoy their stay , can't imagine why they wouldn't. We will definitely return and highly recommend to family and friends.
