Loved the small outside area with really comfortable table and chairs that we were able to sit outside and chat in comfort and privacy. Liked the off road parking for our two cars. The cottage was immaculately clean with everything provided that we needed.

A torch is essential when walking round village on a night at this time of year due to lack of adequate street lighting.

It is warm and cosy and extremely well fitted out. The walking around the cottage is superb with no need to use the car at all if you don't want to. There are many places of interest within 10-15 mins drive. Our 3 day weekend was not enough time and we plan to return again in the New Year.

  • "This was an absolutely fabulous property in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales."

We loved being able to walk outside our door and enjoy gorgeous scenery and footpaths in every direction. The property was convenient to so many wonderful places and villages. An overall perfect location for us; a family with two young children eager to explore castle ruins and the Forbidden Corner. Our Sykes cottage was charming, cozy and fully loaded with every amenity we could think of. The owner also included a pint of milk in the fridge and cookies and muffins for our arrival tea, so thoughtful and appreciated. We had a great holiday!!
