The property

Sitting on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Richmond rests this contemporary-styled apartment, Woodland View.

All on the first floor to offer the best views of the surrounding countryside, this North Yorkshire property is perfect for a pair looking to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and beyond.

Enter through the electric gates to find two beautiful stone-built properties; the owner's home and your very own romantic bolthole with private pedestrian access through the arched gate at the rear of the garden.

Venture up the stairs to be greeted by the open-plan living space, the Velux windows throughout creating a bright and airy aspect for your stay.

Find a kitchen hosting all the essentials for a self-catered stay, accompanied by a lovely dining area where you can relish quality time with your loved one over a homemade meal.

End your day relaxing on the plush sofa in front of the television, or head outside to soak in your beautiful surroundings from your very own private hot tub for the perfect end to a romantic day.

When it's time to rest, find a superking-size bedroom awaiting for you to unwind, doubling up as two single beds on request for those travelling with a friend, with a TV in here too so you can catch up with your favourite shows from the comfort of the covers.

Freshen up within the spacious walk-in shower before venturing out to discover the local area; take a walk to the quaint Richmond Station with its restaraunt/bar, artisan food-sellers, cinema, gallery and heritage centre and enjoy a leisurley walk along The Drummer Boy Walk.

Stroll into the town centre, here your will be met by a good choice of eateries for an afternoon snack in the form of pubs, cafés and restaurants, or head to one of the shops and pack up a picnic to be enjoyed beside the River Swale.

There's plenty to explore within the town including The Green Howards Museum following the history of notorious British Army regiment, the impressive Richmond Castle offering wonderful views over the Dales, and the Richmondshire Museum, just to name a few, while following the town's narrow streets and alleys to uncover quaint shops makes a lovely way to while away the hours.

Keen walkers will delight at the close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales National Park where you can attempt to tackle the famed Three Peaks, follow Tour De France climbs, explore show caves, or simply stroll amongst lush scenery, while the North York Moors National Park is slightly further afield but well-worth the venture too!

Spend some time in Darlington where you can find fantastic opportunities for shopping, golfing, and even more eateries to take your pick from, while Northallerton is also within driving distance boasting a charming atmosphere making a lovely stop off for afternoon tea.

For an unforgettable break in North Yorkshire, choose Woodland View.

About the location

RICHMOND

Barnard Castle 10 miles; Leyburn 12 miles.

Situated at the entrance to Swaledale, the ancient market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. Its cobbled streets and narrow alleys or 'wynds' enshrine over nine centuries of busy history and unique character. The town grew up around its castle, a Norman fortress dating back to 1071, famously situated high above the river - indeed the name Richmond is derived from 'Riche-mont' meaning 'strong hill'. Today there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed such as the Castle Walk - a dramatic terrace walk beneath the castle walls - or alternatively walk alongside the River Swale where there are parks, safe paddling areas and small waterfalls to enjoy. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The town flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries and the resulting elegant Georgian architecture lines many of the old streets. The Georgian Theatre is one of the oldest surviving theatres in the country with visitors enjoying its regular productions all year round.
