The property

Turnip House is a brilliant all-ground-floor property, in a lovely location to spend a relaxing retreat with your partner with stunning settings being the backdrop of your trip.

Within the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, the village of Hunton is quaint but has everything you need in terms of food, drink, and wonderful landscapes.

As you pull up on the property along with three other similar houses, you will be astonished by the panoramic views that surround you, with vast lands, sheep, and the country air, you’re definitely in for a tranquil holiday.

Step into the open-plan living space whilst the dog runs around your feet trying to find the best place for a midday doze.

Equipped with a kitchen, sitting, and dining area in one, it’s definitely the hub of the house, whether you’re whipping up a romantic meal or simply sitting back with a glass of wine and watching the sunset, it’s a pleasant and homely space where you can enjoy quality time with your loved one.

As you head outside ready for a day of adventure, be sure to stop in the back garden for a coffee amongst the wondrous landscapes.

Take a trip into the town of Bedale, where you fill find yourself surrounded by an array of restaurants and bars, perfect for a celebratory Saturday evening, and in the daytime you can occupy your time by visiting the museum, petting the animals at the Big Sheep & Little Cow fam attraction, or enjoy a competitive game of golf.

If you feel like venturing a bit further to explore the lands of North Yorkshire, take a train from Bedale to the market town of Darlington, where you can find a Hippodrome, an Edwardian venue displaying various events, an array of shopping experiences, and even an impressive train sculpture created by David Mach; it’s a real showstopper.

Be sure to visit the Yorkshire Dales National Park or the North York Moors National Park, both offering breath-taking views of Yorkshire, historic ruins, and an action packed day out.

Leyburn 5 miles.

Hunton is a pretty village situated in Lower Wensleydale, 5 miles from Leyburn. Village facilities include a pub with restaurant, a traditional village shop with post office and a village green with play area. This is an ideal location for walking and touring the many attractions of Wensleydale and Swaledale - within a ten minute drive are historic Richmond and Middleham, as well as the attractive market towns of Bedale and Leyburn. There is a golf course less than a mile away and the area boasts many excellent restaurants and award winning pubs. Nearby attractions include Fountains Abbey, Beamish and Lightwater Valley. The nearest town, Leyburn is dominated by its large market square, which still boasts a lively Friday market. The town has much to offer with its many craft shops, galleries and tea rooms. There are many lovely walks for all abilities in this beautiful area, as well as delightful villages to explore. Also within easy reach are many other attractions, notably the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore, and of course the lovely Georgian town of Richmond with its fine castle ruins.
