  • "Beautiful setting, extremely well appointed accommodation with easy access to a variety of walks from the front door!"

  • "Our original booking was cancelled because of Covid and original cottage wasn't available when we were so we were offered Apres Ski instead for no extra cost."

WOW -Doesn't seem the right word to describe this stunning lodge at the side of the River Wharfe. Entry to the park was self checking in due to Covid, which was easy to do, and were able to drive straight up to the lodge. Everything was spotlessly fresh and clean. A chilled bottle of Prosecco on the table along with a fresh loaf of bread, butter and a very yummy Lemon cake and milk in fridge. There were condiments and everything a self catering person required from dishwasher tablets to washing tablets and toiletries. Hot tub was a great asset and looked out across the river, this was checked and cleaned daily ( although you never saw or really heard them you knew it had been done). Lovely walks along the river 1 way leads to Bolton Abbey and other to Ilkley lots of picnic areas along the way and a chance to paddle in the river. The weather was fab which was a bonus too. There is a onsite cafe and bistro which was only open for a few hours at moment on a Sunday, however on the Wednesday evening they delivered free fresh home made pizzas would have happily paid for them as they were delicious. 5 minute walk into the village with local co-op and pubs, ate in The Swan great food and hospitality and social distancing. Also ate at The Craven Heifer delicious very friendly and helpful staff - highly recommend them both. Definitely will return if we can find availability as seems to be booked well in advance. Couple in lodge behind us it was there 3rd visit - so just shows its a lovely place to visit.

The log cabin was lovely and the staff in site were really friendly all of the facilities were really good and we will be returning there at some point maybe through the summer time

  • "Unbelievable log cabin, actually made on site using HUGE logs!"

! Immaculate, warm, all mod cons etc. Great location with many walks straight from the site. Village is only an easy 5-10 minute walk with several pubs! Superb on site bistro, more like a restaurant than a cafe! Wonderful breakfasts and does get busy, not sure if you can reserve a table as we couldn’t get a seat one afternoon and gave up! A booking system for guests of the lodges/cottages etc would be welcome. A few suggestions- fill the hot tub with warm water as we couldn’t use it the day of arrived as too cold, we would have liked the hot tub to have had some type of ‘cover’ to keep the rain off you when using it, and a couple of outdoor electric heaters on the decking and balcony for cooler evenings would be the icing on the cake! We’re already planning a return next year!

  • "Absolutely fantastic stay."

..we didn't want to leave! We were looking forward to a relaxing week and our expectations were exceeded on every level. The cabin is beautiful and finished to a 5* hotel standard. The welcome pack was so generous that we didn't need to go shopping until the second day. The kitchen is stocked with every item you could possibly need, the beds were so comfortable, the bathrooms have high end toiletries which smelt amazing...we felt completely pampered. The hot tub was large enough for four of us to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the sauna was a great treat after a long walk. We will definitely be back!

Every possible need was covered within the lodge and it was immaculately clean. We particularly loved the log burner and the sauna.

About the location

ADDINGHAM

Bolton Abbey 3 miles; Ilkley 3 miles; Skipton 4 miles.

The historic village of Addingham nestles in the valley of the River Wharfe between Ilkley and Skipton, just 3 miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. In the Doomsday Book, Addingham is referred to as 'Ediham', which probably meant 'Home of Edi', the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. A corn mill was mentioned in 1315, near where High Mill is today, and the weir across the river is one of the oldest medieval structures in the village. Today's village is a thriving, small community with several good pubs serving fine ale and excellent food, a scattering of small shops and a delightful golf course surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Nearby Bolton Abbey is one of the region's most scenic areas and the walk along the river to the 'Strid' is a must. The Victorian Spa town of Ilkley is worth a visit, with its wide streets, world-famous Box Tree Restaurant and Bettys Tea Rooms, while Ilkley Moor is the subject of Yorkshire's unofficial anthem “On Ilkla Moor Baht at”. Grassington and Malham are within reach, plus Skipton is also close by with its ancient castle, beautiful old parish church, colourful street market, canal trips and Embsay Steam Railway.
