  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, the welcome pack full of local produce was real treat."

The house was comfortable , well equipped, with large rooms ( and hot tub ) and in a great location. The village of Cononley has two local pubs and a railway station, with frequent trains giving easy access to Keighley ( steam railway ) , Skipton and beyond , we decided not to use the cars and the children loved the adventure of train journeys. It was brilliant to spend quality time in this lovely house in such a beautiful location, would certainly recommend.

What a lovely place. Plenty of room for all the family. As we all pulled up to the house the two Christmas trees in the bay windows welcomed us in. The hot tub was amazing very, very clean. We are a big foodie family and cooked a tapas banquet for new years eve dinner. Plenty of pots, pans and dishes which was brilliant. Had a fantastic time. Definitely be back

The welcome pack was second to none!!. All the extras washing up liquid ,tea towels dish washer tablets were extremely useful. My husband and I were lucky enough to bag the master bedroom which was en suite and the bed was large and very comfortable. ( a lovely touch) This place is beautiful and in a great location. Five minutes walk from a lovely country pub and 3 miles away from Skipton. The house was immaculately clean and comfortable. There was ten of us staying in the house and loads of room in the bedrooms and lounge areas. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped, and the host had also left us some bin liners, washing tablet and t towels. We used the hot tub each night we were there. (a real luxury) It was really clean and warm. The caretaker Nigel was especially good and answered my text/telephone queries very quickly. He was also very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The owners of this house live next door and never bothered us, even though we did play loud music after 2 am one of the nights we stayed. I would highly recommend this house. It's lovely. • "What a wonderful Christmas holiday!"

After the strain of the past two years with the pandemic, a mixed family group of ours decided to go away for Christmas. Brooklyn House was just perfect for all our needs, from our 2 year old toddler, to a young 20-something couple, through to our Aunt in her 70s!! To echo other reviews, Nige and Donna couldn't do enough for us, right from initial communication through to when we'd got back home. To give you an idea how amazing they are, I had left my childhood bear at Brooklyn, and literally within days he was returned safely with a packet of chocolate buttons!!! The welcome pack in the kitchen and the fridge was such a lovely gift too with a lovely range of local products that were enjoyed by all! Pulling up to the house, we were met with a beautiful, double bay fronted magical property. There were tastefully decorated Christmas trees in the bays, which was such a lovely suprise. Parking was plentiful (we had 5 cars), & there was a choice of steps up to the house, or sloped access on the other side, which was great for both disabled acces and unloading the mountains of bags we had brought with us. The inside of the house was almost like something from a movie! There was plenty of space throughout and the kitchen was just perfect!! It can be stressful enough making Christmas dinner for 10, never mind in an unknown kitchen, but it went amazingly. There were utensils for everything, plenty of pans and dishes of all sizes, and the oven was fabulous!! The knives could be a bit sharper for all the chopping we had to do but that was a minor point. The hot tub and the surrounding views are idyllic, and it was all straight forward to use. The bedrooms were lovely, and the attic space was great for us with our 2 year old as we had our own private area. The en-suite up there was a little chilly and the shower had low pressure, but we saw that on other reviews and knew what to expect. It's understandable with an older property too. The master suite is stunning so I'd recommend flipping a coin as everyone will want to sleep in there, although the other bedrooms are still great. The only minor area that could be improved is the TV room. It doesn't have the warm, luxurious feel of the front room, and the mis-matched furniture doesn't really match the more plush surroundings in other rooms. But this is such a minor point compared to the rest of the house. The location is superb for exploring the area. While we were at Brooklyn House, we visited Thornton Hall Farm for my daughter, Malham Cove as a big group, the steam train journey from Oxenhope to Keighley and a quick train ride into Skipton where we visited the beautifully kept castle. We'd recommend walking to the village via the footpath through the field over the train line. Just wear suitable footwear! It was much quicker and safer as there is not much of a path along the main road. We visited the New Inn pub a number of times and they were so friendly and welcoming, and the staff in village shop were so helpful. Nearby Cross Hills also has a number of takeaways if you fancy a rest from cooking. Yes, the train line is opposite, but there is nothing that can be done about that. It's a fairly busy line, but despite living in a very quiet area, I soon found it to be quite comforting. Just be aware it's over the road. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We really hope we can visit again in the future!

  • "Our family aged from 1 year old to 70 all had a fabulous stay."

All the facilities were as described and lovely special touches from a card and flowers for mams birthday to the food hamper and sweets for the kids. I know some people like to watch tv but we found it was a bonus only having the one main one as the whole family got together more without any distractions but strong WiFi for the teenagers to keep in touch with the world. Loved the technology touches the only minor improvement would be a bit more protection around the hot tub as it was very windy and snowy but we did visit when the storm arrived but it was great sitting there when it was snowy around us. Thank you for a lovely stay.

! All beds were comfortable, kitchen had the little things that mattered like sharp knives enough pots & pans, plenty of glasses & crockery, a big enough fridge freezer. The hot tub was great (having checked every few days a bonus as knew it was always in tip top condition) Our only observation would be more sofas like the big comfy one in the lounge with the fire rather than the smaller leather ones, we made sure us ladies got the big comfy one ; ) Nige & Donna we’re very helpful with any queries we had prior to our booking and during, it was like asking a friend for advice, a special thank you to them, our welcome pack was just brill! Also highly recommend using the village shop, it’s very well stocked, their fresh sourdough from Barlick bakery is yummy especially with the shops own jam. Wonderful scenery and walks all around . And finally do frequent the New Inn, we received a warm welcome there & tip top Timothy Taylor’s range of beer on hand pull… perfect!!

  • "Stayed in this beautiful cottage."

Housekeepers responded promptly. Everything was very clean and comfortable. There were a couple loose fittings but nothing to worry about, be wary of neighbours as too much noise would disturb them. Sound system didnt work which was a bummer for us but the hot tub and smart TV was lovely. Pretty surrounding areas for walks. I would recommend taking more toilet roll as the one provided wasn't enough. The water pressure in the attic was not great as it would often throw cold water and slow. Overall, i would definitely recommend staying at this place and we had a lovely time.

  • "We had a great week at Brooklyn with a party of 9."

Great lounge, dining and outside spaces with immaculate gardens and hot tub (could have been a little hotter). Very close to busy railway line but noise not a problem and great for train spotters! While we were there the foot path across the line re-opened which allows easy walks by the river and into the village. The outside lights were not working on arrival and we should have reported this sooner as it turned out to be a simple trip switch! As mentioned in other reviews Nigel and Donna the Whatsapp housekeepers were very helpful and quick to respond to queries - even posting back my wife's diary which was accidentally left under a pillow! Parking space is great and as an EV driver I used my own long extension to trickle charge my car overnight via the external mains socket at the rear of the main house. A suggestion for the future is for the addition of a 'proper' EV charger in the car park area (this idea was taken on board ) - this will be an extra selling point! All round excellent stay !

The house suited us with loads of living and outside space where we could all be together or be slightly separate if we wanted. We did struggle trying to sort out bedrooms for family groups and a floor plan would have been useful before we booked. However on talking to Nige and Donna, the housekeepers, they forwarded us one a fortnight before our holiday. The welcome goodie box was amazing and the hot tub an added bit of luxury which young and old enjoyed. The village does have a wonderful play park which is a few minutes walk away and close to the railway station for a 10 minute ride into Skipton. Thank you Team Brooklyn for a great time away.

Communication was excellent with housekeepers. They were able to accommodate our needs by arranging 8 separate beds, all extremely comfortable. May be a potential concern for some people, housekeepers made us aware someone would come around to check the hot tub levels, this was arranged to be done early in the morning whilst everyone slept so very discreet and not a disturbance at all. I wouldn't worry about this. Yes there is a neighbour right next door so bare this in mind if planning on making lots of noise outside. Would highly recommend the cottage for a relaxing getaway.

All the bedrooms were spacious, clean and had very comfortable beds. Two of the rooms came with ensuites and both those bathrooms along with the large family bathroom were clean with powerful showers. The house also has a lovely outdoor area with seating and a lovely big hot tub, which didn't take any time at all to get working. When we arrived, we were greeted with a big hamper of goodies which was a lovely gesture and the housekeeper was so helpful throughout the week answering any queries. The location is also fab as it's in a beautiful quiant village and is within half an hours drive to Skipton, Haworth and many other villages and towns near by. We would recommend eating at 22 the square in Crosshills which is a lovely Italian restaurant only a 25 minute walk away. We also ate at the local pub in Cononley called the railway but found that to be very dissapointing with both the selection on the menu and the quality of food. The staff were very friendly however. The dining room seats up to 12 people (with the movement of the kitchen table) so the whole family can gather before the fire and enjoy a homely catch up.

You then have the choice of relaxing in the sitting room, snug, or sun room, all laced with comfortable seating; perhaps the children can watch TV, whilst you rest in the sun room admiring the garden.

A cloakroom and utility also lie on this floor.

On the next floor, a master bedroom with a super king size bed that oozes with charm, adjoined by an en-suite bathroom, hosting both a freestanding bath and shower for a touch of luxury.

Along with this, a super king-size with wash basin, king-size and a twin bedroom make a lovely addition to the layout, tied together by a family shower room.

Wander up to the last floor, home to a double bedroom with en-suite promising a good nights sleep, neighboured by a family room suitable for housing extra guests or the children.

This family room can either access the en-suite through the double bedroom or the shower room on the floor below.

Outside of the house is where you will want to be, resting in the hot tub, amongst the countryside, without a care in the world.

The village of Cononley has much to offer, with two pubs, a Post Office/village store, a children's play area, a Chinese take-away and a mainline railway station with links to Leeds.

Nearby Skipton, known as "The Gateway to the Dales", boasts an ancient castle, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market.

A charming holiday not to be missed.

The elegant town of Harrogate can be reached within an hours drive.

It is one of the most beautifully laid-out towns in England.

Much of its Victorian architecture still remains intact, with fine mellow stonework, wide tree lined streets and colourful parks.
