Great peaceful location. Loved the Scandinavian hot tub so much better than a jacuzzi. Could not fault this accommodation at all. It made my husbands 60th birthday so special. Would definitely return.

  • "We had a lovely peaceful week staying at Skyfell with friends."

The property is really spacious, kitchen is well equipped and the beds are really comfortable. The views over the reservoir are fantastic. The wifi is really good, but the mobile reception isn't great. It is a bit of a bumpy track road down to the property but that didn't cause too many problems. We only used the hot tub once. It is a log fire warmed tub, needs a lot of attention and we weren't around enough to keep the fire burning. Would agree with others that there could do with being another bathroom upstairs. We used the downstairs shower room as we had the room with the bath in, but if we'd have been with more people it would have been a bit of a struggle. Overall, a really enjoyable stay and we all want to come back in the future!

It felt like home with all the comforts that you need. The lovely 4.5 mile walk around the reservoir had beautiful panoramic views right from the doorstep. Gerry was really friendly and always on hand to help if needed. It was a real wrench for us to leave and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making our holiday one to remember.

A minor point but the master bedroom could do with a proper en-suite in addition to the bath tub. Jerry very helpful/responsive to a couple of questions, even when txt him on a Sunday! Definitely consider coming back again in the future as really liked the house and area.

  • "House and location were fantastic."

Quiet, secluded and a beautiful setting. A view from every window. The house was large, comfortable and had everything you need for a family holiday, as well as being stylish. The wood fired hot tub was well used while we were there and Gerry the caretaker was so helpful when we arrived. I would highly recommend this property.

  • "Stunning remote location and beautiful cottage!"

The property was spotless and super cosy! Really appreciated the welcome hamper with thoughtful treats. Only slight downside was the hot tub which was a log-burning hot tub that took almost a day to heat up but a nice novelty nevertheless.

  • "We found this to be a spacious and well appointed property with a particularly well equipped kitchen."

We really enjoyed our stay. The decor is idiosyncratic, but that’s hardly a problem. It would probably be wise to flag up the rough nature of the access road a little more and the parking was not the easiest with the half buried boulders around the perimeter. Would we consider booking this again? Certainly.

Jerry the caretaker was on hand to help with any issues and even helped get oil for my car when it had run low! We would love to stay again and would definitely recommend :)

  • "From the moment we arrived the experience exceeded expectations."

The bumpy road was bumpier than expected, the rural location was more remote than expected- but most importantly the stay was perfect beyond expectations! If you’re looking for a complete escape from reality and the opportunity to relocate to Northern paradise, then you’ve found the place. Skyfell has been completed to an exceptional standard and with all the additions of a modern property. Space is ample and the small touches never ceased to amase us. From the hamper on arrival, to the historic references, to the the personal support from Hayley and her team. We never felt far from a helping hand but also never too close to the neighbours the other side of the reservoir! The property hosted opportunities for everyone to relax and unwind. Personally I enjoyed running around the reservoir first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee in the hot tub before everyone woke up. Whilst others made use of the therapeutically comfy beds and deep bath tubs. Whatever you need to relax, Skyfell can provide. Thank you to Hayley and her team for such a fabulous visit and for making the property a staycation haven. All the best with the rest of the season and we hope to see you in 2021!
