  • "We loved our time at Cuckoo Cottage."

The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need, it’s in a great location with plenty of walks in wonderful countryside. The information in the cottage was very helpful to us organising our days out. We are already planning our return visit.

Thank-you for the 100% feedback Gary - it is good to know our hard work is appreciated and that you had everything you needed. We look forward to hosting you again when you return for another visit to Pateley Bridge and glorious Nidderdale. Property Owner

The cottage is two cottages made into one and was clean comfortable and warm. We found Pately bridge a lovely interesting and friendly place with loads of walks on your doorstep and great places to visit via a beautiful short drive. The first thing we did when we got home was book for next year. That says a lot

Thanks for the glowing feedback Ian. We are so pleased you liked Cuckoo and Pateley Bridge - there is something about the place! We look forward to hosting you again next year. Property Owner

Beautiful views from the front rooms, comfy beds, a sumptuous bathroom with a truly powerful shower and luxurious bath. Relaxing sofas and room to dine inside and out. Enough crockery, pans and utensils to cook up a banquet. Loads of games and books for rainier days that, luckily, we didn't experience. A wonderful dog-friendly stay.

  • "A lovely double cottage situated near to the centre of Pateley Bridge."

Close to the shops, cafes, pubs etc. There is also a park close by with open space to walk your dog. There is a parking space for one car in front of the cottage on a quiet road. The cottage is well stocked with everything you need for your holiday. WiFi was good. It has a lovely small, private outdoor space which catches the sun from later morning through the afternoon. Ideal for a glass of wine in the sun after a long walk. If I had to make any suggestions for improvement they would be a bigger TV and a hose for the outside tap to wash the dog down if they get muddy.

Thanks for the lovely feedback Steven and helpful, positive comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Can I thank you for your help with the little issues you had during your stay. If they are not reported we can't fix them in time for the next guests so we are pleased to hear about any issues. As for the TV, it's on our shopping list for when this one needs replacing, and the dog hose is a brilliant idea that we are seriously considering. We'll look forward to your next stay when you and Anita visit Pateley Bridge again. PS: Dog hose now provided! Property Owner

  • "Had a great time away in an amazing holiday cottage which had lots to do within walking distance."

Only caveat, would have to be parking which is no fault of the owners - it’s just unfortunate throughout the whole stay, someone was parked in the reserved bay outside the property which was a struggle when loading and unloading suitcases, etc.

Thanks for the lovely feedback Leeson, and we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the parking. Our neighbours are all very considerate about leaving the space clear, but anyone can use it of course - so no guarantee it's free immediately outside. I've always found a space within a few yards. Also thanks for the heads-up about the drip in the kitchen. Without guests letting us know we can't repair it - so very much appreciate your helpful note. Ideally located close to the village centre or Pateley Bridge, and central to many surrounding attractions and walks. The kitchen would have benefited from some small basins and another sauce pan. I’m pleased I took my own vegetable knives etc. Everything in full working order. The freezer needed defrosting!

Thanks for your review Eileen, I'm very pleased Cuckoo Cottage met expectations. More mixing bowls, a block of 5 knives with sharpening steel, and two more saucepans have been added to the kitchen equipment as you suggested. It's tricky to defrost the freezer with only a couple of hours between bookings, and of course freezers should be full of food to work effectively, which never happens in a holiday cottage. The cleaners have been asked to keep a closer eye on it. The door seal has been checked and anti-frosting mats fitted. Hopefully that will remedy that Property Owner

  • "Parking is an issue,no coffee machine as was seen in photos of cottage, tv was very small,"

Thanks for the review Sue, I'm pleased Cuckoo Cottage met expectations. The listing states that parking is on street. These historic stone cottages rarely have off road parking. Our lovely neighbours leave the space immediately outside clear, but sometimes visitors to the farmers market or day hikers will use the space as there is no restriction. I have always found parking within 50 paces of the cottage. No other guests have commented on parking so I must assume you were unlucky when you visited. The coffee machine was damaged and removed for repair. The photos have now been updated. There is a cafetière and fresh ground coffee. The TV is 24" with DVD slot and Freeview Play. I'm afraid we don't watch much TV so have always found it adequate for my needs. I'll definitely consider your comment when it needs replacing. Property Owner
