  • "Moss Bank was an absolute delight."

The property is the perfect couple's getaway. We parked the car up on Friday afternoon and didn't move it again until Sunday when we left. Nice walks straight from the cottage into the beautiful countryside. The property was all as listed and the wood fired hot tub was great and so easy to use. Claire was so helpful in transporting us down and back up from the cottage. We would love to return and would certainly recommend to others.

Totally secluded and very comfortable with lots of attention to detail and little treats to make your stay extra special. Lovely walks nearby and didn’t move our car for the time we were there. We will definitely recommend it.

  • "Claire and Steve are so lovely, we stayed here a couple weeks ago and havent stopped thinking about it ever since, it was not only the perfect weekend getaway but what we truely truely needed."

They thought of everything in terms of facilities and supplies, the cabin in gorgeous and the surrounding area is so private and peaceful. A key I don’t remember reading is that when you are outside, or in the hot tub, you can hear this waterfall which you are able to go walk to. Amazingly peaceful, we will most certainly be returning and it might just be our go to place every rare chance me and my partner both bet time off together

  • "We wanted a break somewhere secluded, relaxing and good for walks and we definitely found it at Moss Bank."

The accommodation is deceptive as it looks small but is perfectly proportioned for two. It had everything we needed to cook and relax. The patio and hot tub were lovely and you really do feel like you’re miles from anywhere! We stumbled across plenty of bird life and deer right outside and even saw a barn owl out hunting an hour before sunset. Locally, there’s some lovely walks on the doorstep and we found walking into Silsden along the canal very pleasant. There’s a couple of cafes and places to eat plus two supermarkets. The station isn’t a long walk and there’s regular buses to go a little further afield without the car. There’s an information folder in the accommodation with lots of suggestions of places to visit and walks to go on so you definitely won’t get bored. The hosts ferried us to the door in a 4x4 on arrival and back to our car on departure so we didn’t need to worry about carrying shopping and luggage down and up the steep track. You do need decent footwear for that but you’re unlikely to be thinking of trekking round the hills in heels anyway. If you’re after all the perks of being right out in nature but with luxury and comfort, this place will be perfect.

Claire and Steve were so welcoming and very helpful with our bags and taking us to the log cabin. Will definitely be recommending to our family and friends as we enjoyed our stay here.

About the location

SILSDEN

Bolton Abbey 8.5 miles; Ilkley 8.5 miles; Skipton 9 miles.

The pretty town of Silsden, set on the edge of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, commands sweeping views of the River Aire and its valley, and has a thriving community with local amenities. Although Silsden was originally an agricultural town, the construction of the nearby Leeds and Liverpool Canal meant that it later became an important centre for the mill industry, however the local economy is now largely supported by tourism, and it has become a perfect place to stay and explore the local area. Down the Aire Valley lies historic Skipton, known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, a quaint market town boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008, the Academy of Urbanism voted the high street as the best shopping spot in Britain. In the next valley lies Addingham, a thriving, small community with several good pubs serving fine ale and excellent food, a scattering of small shops and a delightful golf course surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Nearby Bolton Abbey is one of the region's most scenic areas and the walk along the river to the Strid is a must. The Victorian Spa town of Ilkley is also worth a visit, with its wide streets, world-famous Box Tree Restaurant and Bettys Tea Rooms, while Ilkley Moor is the subject of Yorkshire's unofficial anthem “On Ilkla Moor Baht at”. With steam railways offering regular excursions through stunning scenery, canal day trips, castles and pretty market towns all available nearby, Silsden is a wonderful base for touring the Bronte Country and North and West Yorkshire.
