  • "The property was lovely with little extras that ''made it''."

We walked in to lovely music, warmth and a homely feel. A welcome pack of biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco and a cute milk bottle! (Not sure if that's std or left by others) On arrival, the initial drive into the back yard area was a little shock - a bit of a run down look, however we feel its maybe being done up and should we return in a year or so, it could look very different. The deer and the hens roaming about are lovely to see, with feed provided for them - had great fun feeding the fowl :-) The yard area and hot tub is private, well maintained and ready for use on arrival. The house is well stocked, welcoming and modern. The owner (Bev) was VERY friendly & helpful, with lots of local knowledge and never tired of my questions! lol Was nice to have direct contact with the owner, instead of someone with no knowledge of the property or area. Local shops are about 40mins walk away, Local WMC ( Bocking WMC) 10mins walk and worth a visit - very welcoming, friendly and looks like recently modernised. Steam train runs from the station within the local village.

  • "“Amazing stay at Little Barn."

" I cannot recommend highly enough. A perfect base for exploring West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. The property was great. It had everything you’d need and was tastefully decorated throughout. The welcome basket and fresh eggs were much appreciated treats. The views were beautiful. There were wild deer in the grounds, never been so close! Quite the experience. The chickens also popped by to say hello each morning. You could see the Keighley and Worth Valley railway steam train pass by from the window. Visited Hebden Bridge, Malhamdale including Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar, Harrogate, Haworth and Goit Stock falls. There were lots of nice places to eat within a short drive. Galo’s kitchen in Ilkey was so good and such great value. Also went to the Shibden Mill Inn, Engine Social in Sowerby Bridge and Betty’s tea rooms in Harrogate. After a day out exploring, to return to the large hot tub, the private patio area, the free standing bath and comfy bed were just what was needed. Bev was extremely helpful and a lovely host.

Bev was a great host and communicated with us really well before and during our stay, she was super attentive throughout and because we were getting there late in the evening, she warmed up the hot tub for us so we could get right in when we arrived. Bev also left us some fresh eggs from the chickens which was amazing and so kind. The cottage itself was so clean, cosy and really felt like home there was nothing we could fault. The bedrooms were a very good size, the bed was comfortable and we absolutely loved the view from the bedroom and the little room by the upstairs bedroom where you can see the steam train go by as you get ready! We had chickens come up to the door in the mornings and a deer in the garden, and as you drive up the driveway you can spot the family of deers, such a cool experience. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely come back to Little Barn, we loved every minute of this place thank you Bev!

If the bedside cabinets were to be replaced with smaller more normal sized ones then it would be possible to fit a king size bed in that room making it the same comfort as the bedroom on the first floor. A wonderful bonus, Chickens came to the door every morning to be fed by hand for their breakfast. As well as that delight we were able to feed, again, by hand, Deer from the nearby trees whilst hearing the steam train at the bottom of the garden. Fantastic!,

  • "This property was lovely on the inside and the view beyond the grounds was breath-taking."

However, the driveway to the cottage is steep and intimidating as it takes people along the backside of the property first, followed by the rubbish heap before the front is seen. This property is off a busy road and can only truly be entered from one direction by larger vehicles. The owners and manager were absolutely lovely and helpful (the grandson was just adorable). It is obvious the owners are making the most of what they have and created a little oasis for some holiday relaxation. I’m not certain I would stay in this cottage again for the price as I was hoping for a bit more of a getaway than what the cottage is able to provide.

This is quite possibly one of the most comfortable places I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I am almost grateful for the heavy rainfall over our extended weekend break as it gave us the perfect excuse to relax in this little gem of a cottage! The house is tucked away in a quiet, private spot away from the main road. On our arrival, the house was toasty and warm and the radio was switched on in the living room; the place immediately felt like home. The cottage looks beautiful in pictures, but in person it is even nicer and even more spacious! The hot tub was the main reason we chose Little Barn and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. Bev was a fantastic host who was only a text away and made sure we were completely comfortable during our stay. I would come back here in a heartbeat, and would recommend this place to anyone choosing Haworth as their next holiday destination!

The little barn is exceptional, the decor is to such a high standard, the bath overlooking the dales is beautiful, and the hot tub in its secluded courtyard is wonderful. we had everything we cod possibly need, and had the most fantastic time. Azeems Indian Takeaway is a must try, and the Treehouse in Haworth is well worth a trip for fabulous cocktails and food. We had an amazing walk to Brontë Village where we visited the The Cabinet of Curiosities and got some beautiful witchy themed bath bombs for the amazing bath tub and an fantastic senic walk to Brontë waterfalls. The weather was glorious, and the walks and pubs/ restaurants are more than you could ever need. We were in the hot tub most days and if the weather didn’t allow we enjoyed the bath instead. We saw local deer on the track down to the house on more than one occasion which was a magical surprise. There was nothing really to do in Cross Roads but Haworth is only a 30 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride away and is absolutely beautiful. The bus services are reliable and very cheap too picking up at the top of the hill. We got the bus to Hebden Bridge which we would recommend. The only thing that let it down was the location. Not so much the hill but the pile of rubbish and trampoline directly in front of the row of properties spoiling the view. That being said we would absolutely return and recommend this property. Overall we had an amazing stay.

We loved everything about this home away from home, especially the huge bath. WiFi didn’t work though which means we struggled to watch tv on a night on our phones but wasn’t anything that would put us off. Also the electricity was turned off at 9am which meant we had to rush to use anything we needed before then so we had an hour before we had to leave where we couldn’t do much which was a shame as we wanted to take advantage of the time we had left. We deffo want to come again though looking for dates later in the year for a week!

Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
