"What can I say without repeating the previous six reviews."
Yes our seventh stay and just as marvellous as the previous six! The cottage is very well laid out and having three bedrooms allows extra guests to stay or friends to drop in for a few days. The garden is amazing, huge with a sun trap to enjoy breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely owners who live adjacent. And Carlton in the lesser frequented Coverdale valley has a great local pub and many walks from the door whilst Leyburn is nearby and excellent for the essential shopping trips. I feel an eighth stay coming on!

"We greatly enjoyed our recent week staying in Coverdale Cottage."
Situated in beautiful and peaceful countryside, the cottage is spacious, well-furnished and equipped to a very high standard. On arrival we found it well-prepared and spotlessly clean. Owners Martin and Dagmar next door were friendly, helpful and not at all intrusive. Their lovely well-planted garden, to which we had access, is a constant feast for the eyes. Located in lesser-known Coverdale, this is an ideal location if your are seeking a quiet base from which to explore the Yorhshire Dales. There are fine country walks outside the door and the entire National Park is within an hour's drive. The Forester's Arms (the village pub) serves excellent meals and is just a 5-minute walk down the road.

"We had a great week in Coverdale Cottage."
The house is lovely, very comfortably equipped, with a gorgeous garden, and friendly but not intrusive owners. Carlton itself is a great place to be, within easy reach of anything we needed, with a great pub and beautiful walks where it is still very much possible to walk for an hour and not see anyone - in quiet, under appreciated Coverdale - with nothing to do but enjoy the views and the wildlife. What's not to like?!
Thank you so very much! We do love the Dale we live in, so very happy when visitors do too!

"Glad when we asked for J-Cloth & Scrubber for kitchen it was supplied."
Could have done with a bowl to wash dishes - don't use a dish washer machine.
Pity the heating had been turned off before we arrived & the house was cold - so had to put that on high for several days.
Useful to have a sink in the large bedroom.
Unfortunately we left behind our night light on the landing outside the bathroom.
The night storage heating was switched on 24 hours before arrival, but due to the unseasonal cold weather, the cottage was still warming up. We apologised profusely and demonstrated how to use the supplementary heating to provide additional and instant heat. We also lit the stove and ensured that it was drawing for you.
The omission of the j cloth and scrubber, which was an oversight, which we quickly rectified.
We talked through the information pack and as we live next door we are on hand throughout the week, when asked, your party said that everything was absolutely fine and that you were having a lovely time. Kind regards, Dagmar & Martin

We stayed at Coverdale cottage in Carlton in Coverdale last month and cannot recommend this cottage highly enough."
The cottage is lovely, warm and cosy, yet spacious, and the perfect holiday home.
It was lovely to meet the owners of the property, who live next door. Their care of the house is so evident in all the extra little touches they have considered, to make this such an outstanding property. The house is well equipped, the bed so comfortable, extra duvets should you need them, fluffy blankets to cosy you up in the lounge , not that we ever needed them, the house was always warm with a really efficient heating system. Just so much thought gone into little details, there are some lovely paintings on the walls for you to enjoy. The position in the lovely small Dales village made it a very restful rural retreat and with a really good pub five minutes walk away, what more could you want.
We have stayed in many rental cottages over several years, but this is definitely one of the very best.

"This was our sixth successive visit and its getting harder not to repeat our appreciation of the cottage from our previous reviews!"
As usual the property was spotlessly clean, and our hosts Dagma and Martin very welcoming and accommodating, particularly when we had friends over to stay in the second week.Milk, flowers and a loaf of bread were awaiting us when we arrived which was a lovely touch. Coverdale is a real gem, just a little off the beaten track, but within the Dales National Park and close to Leyburn which has all the amenities and shops you could wish for. The varied local walks, whilst very familiar to us, were all a delight, due to the verdant meadows and late summer flowers which have benefited from this years high rainfall. The local pub (The Foresters Arms) is in its second season of new management, and is a wonderfully welcoming dales pub, with great food and local Wensleydale brewery beers. One of the joys of this property is the beautiful garden with its mature herbaceous borders and large lush lawn and the sun trap seating area, lovely to enjoy breakfast in. We may be back for a seventh holiday as it is difficult to find a cottage and surroundings quite this lovely!

The cottage is in the traditional Dales style and has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining its original character. It is spotlessly clean and equipped to the highest standard. A big attraction for us is the outdoor space - a private patio and a large and outstandingly beautiful garden. Whilst the latter is shared with the hosts, their discretion makes you feel as if it is yours. We also love the location in Coverdale which feels off the beaten track despite its proximity to bustling villages like Leyburn. Well equipped cottage, warm and cosy. Surprised at no welcome pack. We’ve never stopped anywhere where there was none. Minor point, could do with new pillows. Cottage well positioned for walking and exploring the Dales. Pub in Village very welcoming and good food.
We have a large driveway with plenty of room for 3 cars. We park our little
car on the right leaving two spaces (much larger than in a typical Car
Park) for guests on the left. Guests are normally perfectly happy with this
arrangement.
Rather than provide welcome gifts we've decided in all three of our
cottages to focus running costs on providing very good quality furnishings
and fittings. Over time we believe this has resulted in very good Guest
feedback. We look to refresh pillows and any other furnishings showing wear
every season and we will take this feedback on board, thank you
