About the location

Harrogate 4.7 miles; Skipton 19.3 miles; York 26 miles.

The picturesque village of Hampsthwaite is set by the River Nidd and provides a lovely setting for a relaxing holiday. After spending a day discovering the walks in the area why not visit the tea room or village pub. There is also a Post Office and a shop so you won’t need to travel far for your supplies. The attractive spa town of Harrogate is less than five miles away and is famous for its acres of immaculate gardens, open spaces, elegant architecture and broad tree-lined boulevards. Once one of the most fashionable spas in Europe, the town continues to draw visitors from far and wide to its excellent shopping and restaurants and renowned conference centre. The surrounding countryside is outstandingly beautiful with Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales to the west and the North York Moors to the east. Close by there are many major attractions including Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (National Trust) and the historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens. However many visitors will be more than happy to enjoy a day in Harrogate itself - walking in the Valley Gardens followed by afternoon tea at "Bettys", the town's world famous tearooms.?
