  • "Excellent accommodation in an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and the surrounding countryside and towns and villages."

The hosts left a generous welcome pack and lovely flowers, which was much appreciated. The Snug is in the very pleasant and friendly village Cononley, which has two good pubs and a well stocked shop, in addition to good transport links. I highly recommend The Snug and would love to stay again when visiting this part of Yorkshire.

  • "Had a lovely week at The Snug."

All was as described and there were extras I noticed such as hairdryer and fan which we didn't use but would be helpful. The cottage was clean and comfy with little extras of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cake and prosecco.Everything we needed was provided, linen, washing machine and dishwasher plus a great selection of games and info(can I suggest some of the brochures and timetables are updated). WiFi great and helped with planning our trips. The village has 2 pubs, but not always offering food at this time of year. The village shop was useful as was the train station. Trains run regularly to Skipton. A well positioned cottage with a little bit of luxury, what more do you need? Well, we couldn't control the weather but we walked all the same and having the sauna to return to was a bonus. Snug by name and snuggly by nature, thank you.

Many thanks for your valuable feedback which is much appreciated and also, for mentioning the updating of visitor/tourist information. We're now in the process of refreshing the information to assist future guests. We're absolutely delighted you enjoyed your time at The Snug and hope to welcome you back in the future! • "Wife and I had a superb week at ‘the Snug’ so much so even the sun put in an appearance!"

There’s everything you could need for a very comfortable stay the cottage is easy to find with no parking issues, the neighbours are very nice (they even put the recycling bin out for us) and a great source of local knowledge. The outside seating area is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the sun of an evening with the option of a barbecue all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The following are personal observations; * at home we sleep in almost pitch black thanks to blackout blinds so we had to buy sleep masks to block out the light, perhaps thicker curtains or blinds may address this but again simply personal preferences. * again at home we have Wi-Fi speeds approaching 260Mbps and as we both have devices I had to have my phone as a ‘hotspot’ in order to utilise the 8.14Mbps Wi-Fi in the Snug. Now we’ve been to Cononley before, and we will be back in the future, so we’re aware of the issues in the area concerning internet connectivity but it’s just something we’re not used to. Would we visit the Snug again, hell yes it’s a no-brainier we’ll definitely be back at some point in the near future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback which we welcome. We are pleased to confirm we now provide guests with an option to enjoy a darker bedroom if they prefer, and the village broadband has been upgraded to fibre for a speedier 60+Mbps service at the cottage. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards Property Owner

The owners anticipated, and met, guests’ every need. There was a generous welcome pack which we appreciated (there’s nothing worse than arriving at a holiday cottage and not having milk to make tea!) The village is lovely, with two pubs and a shop. We enjoyed exploring the village, visiting the church and an art fair. For a longer walk, there’s a nearby canal and river. Proximity to the station is a real plus, we got the train to Saltaire and were lucky to see a Hockney exhibition.

It's a very old house and the owners have renovated it into a very comfortable place with a fully fitted kitchen, a lovely bathroom with a great shower and his and hers sinks plus a sauna. We thoroughly enjoyed our week visiting the local area and taking the train to Skipton. The train service in Cononley is exceptional and we only wish we had the same where we live. It is worth pointing out that the stairs in the cottage are quite steep so may present difficulty for people with mobility issues. Shop and two pubs well within a five minute walk, as was the station. We made fourteen rail journeys…so convenient, fast, clean and cheap, and visited some great places. This means a quick review, just based on our few days there. Village and location great. We met a couple of locals and they gave us great advice on walks and we did get a couple in! Litton is a great find for walks. Skipton.....Coopers for brekkie/coffee/lunch....what a fantastic find. We found the local Farm Shop....Keelham. Nice produce, good place to eat too, recommend brekkie again! A little pricey for the produce....have seen better. If going to Haworth...dont go on a Monday or Wednesday. .it seems closed! The Bronte museum is definitely not open on those days. Cottage very nice. It has a free standing bath like we have at home, so I could still have a nice long soak and after a couple of long walks, it was needed. We thought that the Information Basket left by Andrea was very informative. We had booked the steam railway but had to go home , so wasn't able to experience it but Iooked like it would be worth the £48 paid.

It was a very welcoming place to come back to each evening after days out walking in the dales. The facilities are first class so we were really comfortable, with the sauna allowing us to relax away any aches and pains of walking in wintertime. It’s location is good, being near local amenities and just a short drive from many enjoyable places to visit. We walked into Skipton one day and caught the train back due to the frequent service. Our dog Phoebe was made welcome at The Snug and at many other places in the area, which was a real bonus. Meeting Andrea, the owner in the local pub was a pleasure. Enjoyed hearing the children's excited cries as they arrived for school in what must have been the first time for months! So clean all you could wish for. The sauna was used daily the lovely free standing bath was a joy too. You won't be dissappointend with your stay at the snug. The owner kindly left cake and milk looked scrummy but we are both vegan so couldn't eat. The bottle of carva was vegan and my husband enjoyed the drink thank you. What we found good for us was the train station in close proximity we used several times which was novel for our dog Lacey. We did need our wellingtons every day but still had a marvellous time. The owners should be proud of their snug in cononly.

  • "The snug was fantastic it had everything we needed, a very modern kitchen with new appliances,a fantastic sauna and a very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom with a fantastic shower."

The nice treats that were left for us ( namely scones with butter and jam and a chilled bottle of cava ) this was drunk and eaten on the private patio at the rear in the glorious sunshine. The rail links to anywhere from cononley station was perfect. Cononley is a much expanding village with plenty of new builds blending in with the old, it also has a large campsite for tents and tourers. However on the downside the amenities are very disappointing. The village boasts 2 pubs serving meals, one is closed under offer the other( New inn)is open but only seems to serve meals at certain times in the summer season when it pleases them. The village shop was closed and locked up as was the chinese take away both allegedly under new ownership. If we were to return to cononley we would look to see if the amenities had improved.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the property and the scones!. We are glad to say that the shop is reopening in October. We do leave takeaway menus in the property that do deliver and we also provide details of local restaurants. Property Owner

From the moment we parked right outside and entered into the warm cottage we relaxed!! The owners have thought of everything and have such good taste. The bathroom was luxury, the bed was as comfy as ours at home, the kitchen as clean as if it had been newly fitted, the sitting room with the log burner and record player, sheer heaven! On arrival we sat down with a cuppa, the gorgeous cakes provided, listened to Simon and Garfunckel and couldn't believe that we had found such a haven.
