  • "This was our 2nd stay."

One of the things we noticed was the broken towel holder in the bathroom - still not fixed from last year. We realise there is no outdoor space but we were concerned that there was no key to the rear door therefore no emergency exit - surely this does not comply with fire regs. On first entering the cottage looks immaculate however there are cobwebs and dead flies in corners of the lounge.

Hi Joyce thank you for returning to the Old Hall and for your valued feedback. The towel rail has been repaired previously, apologies that it failed again. We will replace it this week once the current guests have vacated. The key for the back door is in an envelope in the kitchen drawer - I have asked the cleaner to put it in a more obvious place going forward (window cill in kitchen). Finally following your feedback the cleaner carried out a deep 4 hour clean on Saturday. We hope to see you again at the Old Hall. Kind regards, Matt & Arnya Property Owner

  • "Had a pleasant stay at Old Hall."

It is located on a busy road so can be quite noisy at times. There is no outside space which is mentioned in the listing but it is a shame. Property was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. Very creaky floorboards upstairs-could do with repairing. Information pack at property was useful and informative. Local shop was handy and staff very pleasant. Good location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

  • "A brilliant spacious place to stay, in an outstanding location."

The local pub serves great food and ale. However we stayed at the end of February and still found a sizeable amount of pine needles on the living room floor (not ideal with a baby and toddler). It could really do with a deep clean. The floor boards as mentioned by previous reviews really need sorting out.

Hi Gary - thanks for your valued feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay at the Old Hall. Apologies that you found pine needles on the floor from the Christmas tree. The house is fully cleaned for 3 hours every week but I will mention it to our cleaner to ensure it doesn't happen again. Also noted your comments about the creaky floorboards. Many thanks, Matt Johnson. Property Owner

  • "This is a wonderful cottage in a beautiful area."

It’s comfortable and has that home from home feeling which some rentals don’t. I am just waiting to get holiday forms from work to book for next year

  • "Maybe advise on low ceilings on the top floor that took a while to adjust so that you don’t hit your head!"

The floor in the top floor was also a bit creaking! Kitchen sink tap very splashy! This cottage was a good base to explore Yorkshire and had all the essentials for a family stay! Very quiet location so a car is essential although has a small shop near to it that had some basic essentials.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Old Hall. Property Owner

  • "Spacious property with a comfortable sofa but the floor is very creaky upstairs!"

There is also a damp smell in the house. It is well situated for exploring the area, however, the road is very busy with trucks and tractors and there were works going on by the twin room when we were there. The shower is very powerful, which is lovely but the water was way too hot so it needs to be looked at. We had a nice stay in this beautiful region.

Old Hall is a converted old village hall situated in the village of Dacre Banks, just half a mile from Summerbridge, in the South of the Yorkshire Dales.

Well presented with good attention to detail, Old Hall makes a delightful base for families to call home while exploring the scenic splendour of Yorkshire.

Pop off your walking boots and sink into the corner sofa, browsing through the Smart TV in search of a good film or favourite series.

Whip up a tasty treat or hearty meal within the kitchen, presented in a farmhouse style with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher so you won’t have to lift a finger when it comes to washing up!

Adjacent lies an elegant dining room, perfect for hosting family meal nights, before heading upstairs to any of the three bedrooms.

The master includes a king-size bed with Smart TV, so you can continue your favourite shows to bed, whilst there is also a twin room (with Smart TV) and a single room, all presented in neutral tones with charming furnishings.

The family bathroom rounds off the interior, offering a large bath with rainfall shower over, so you can decide how best to start the day.

Finally a large garage accessed from the downstairs hallway can be used as a secure place to store your bikes.

Dacre Banks offers a friendly pub serving excellent food and a convenience store right next door to the property, whilst the market town of Pateley Bridge is further afield with an award-winning high street boasting cafés, pubs, tea rooms and quirky shops where you can purchase a gift for back home.

At the foot of the high street rests the River Nidd, which provides a stunning backdrop for walks up and downstream, as well as an opportunity to spot wildlife.

Venture into Harrogate and visit more tempting pubs and antique shops, whilst the magnificent Turkish & Health Spa Baths, theatre and Betty's Tea Room - overlooking Montpellier Gardens - are not to be missed.

You are also well placed for visiting Ripon, a historical city with an impressive cathedral and fascinating museums, balancing a rich cultural heritage with contemporary living.

With all this and plenty more to uncover in the surrounding area, Old Hall ticks all the boxes for a memorable escape with loved ones.
