Ellis House is a welcoming property where a family of five can rest their heads during an exciting stay in the historic Brontë Country.

After an adventure-filled day, take off your coats and feel at home as you enter the warm embrace of the homely dwelling, settling in for a snug evening in the living area, letting the Smart TV entertain as you cosy up in front of the flame-effect gas fire.

Resting behind is the family dining table, a sociable space where you and your loved ones can catch-up on the day's events over your home-cooked delights, thoughtfully prepared in the amply-equipped kitchen, fitted with contemporary amenities and sleek marble countertops.

Patio doors next to the dining area bring you out to breath-taking views of serene countryside, overlooking the famous Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and glimmers of village life in your own private garden, a unique patch of gravelled patio bringing you down several steps to a fantastic decking with seating, ideal for stargazing.

The ground floor is also home to a handy cloakroom and charming front patio seating which overlooks the village green.

As the evening draws to a close, retreat upstairs to find three well-presented bedrooms, comprising a king size double, a double and a single with a truckle bed, perfect for an additional child and ensuring sleeping spots to accommodate a variety of party needs.

Get ready for your day in the attractive bathroom, a spacious room offering the choice of a calming bubble bath, or a brisk overhead shower!

Find local shops and a pub within walking distance, where you can pick up any essentials for your stay, or make the short drive into the centre of Haworth to enjoy more shops, welcoming pubs and cafés in this beautiful setting.

Discover more of this famous village as you enjoy a day of history and exploration, visiting an array of Brontë attractions including the Brontë Parsonage Museum set in the Brontë family home, Brontë Waterfall and Brontë Bridge, whilst the lovely Central Park is the perfect spot to tuck into an afternoon picnic on a warm afternoon.

Hop on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway where film buffs will recognise backdrops from The Railway Children, with the market town of Keighley boasting the Keighley Bus Museum, Cliffe Castle, and East Riddlesden Hall.

Spend a day out at one of the market towns nearby, with Skipton and Harrogate providing various opportunities for high street shopping, fine dining, theatres, and historic buildings, as well as Halifax market town and Ogden Water Country Park and nature reserve further afield.

Another World Adventure Centre is just a short drive away, where adventures can delve into thrilling activities from go-karting, bumper balls, mountain boarding, rope courses and snowboarding to name a few!

About the location

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
