  • "We were offered your beautiful cottage as an alternative when our original booking fell through."

We have stayed around the area 4 times now and staying here gave us another perspective of the surrounding area. Stunning 360 degree views from the cottage and great walks with the dog. I can't imagine staying anywhere else now and will definitely be booking for next year. Will bring binoculars. Many thanks for allowing us to stay.

  • "We were grateful for the flexibility with the booking."

The location was a bit disappointing as it was harder to get to Hebden Bridge than we anticipated. Great views though.

We encourage guests to read the description and refer to previous reviews to establish if the cottage will be right for them. Guests who wish to be in Hebden Bridge please note that this cottage is on a hill just above it. Hence the views. It is a quick drive down to Hebden and back up, but the walk is steep. • "The property is cosy and always warm and inviting."

The kitchen is well stocked. My only negative comment is that the garden is around the back but to access it you go out the front door , which is straight onto the road. The local farmers dog made an appearance in the garden some mornings and was always hanging around and following my dog , which wasn't good for my reactive dog. The farmer just lets him I had to tell him to go away a few times. Think he came for a fight

Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the cottage and sorry your dog found the local farmers dog intrusive. This is for the information of future guests. The cottages are in a small hamlet. There are dogs who live at Horsehold and they are in our experience of good temperament and contribute to the charm of the place: our own dogs get on with them well. Many dog owners have stayed with no negative experiences reported. Property Owner

  • "Think you need to detail that this cottage is very isolated and not really suitable for restricted walkers."

We would encourage guests to read the property notes and the feedback from previous guests in deciding if it is right for them. Property Owner

  • "Had a wonderful time, beautiful spacious cottage and fabulous surroundings."

The very steep single track road was a bit heart in mouth, any meetings requiring plenty of reversing. Bed lovely, sheets very good quality. For utter perfection would have liked tourist information leaflets (which I got and left in cottage) a tea strainer for dealing with coffee/tea leaves, the notes were a bit disorganised, an index would be very useful, and a list of local dog walks. Very few tv channels available, not a problem. The walls very soundproof and the local building works did not intrude, neighbours could not hear our dog on the odd occasion it barked (!). The shower was lovely but a little slippery underfoot. Everything was supplied that we took i.e. loo paper washing up liquid etc, so we doubled up on that. But all in all I would thoroughly recommend the cottage, and the area. Fab.

  • "The cottage was as expected with fantastic views, cosy nooks to read a book or play a game, and with fantastic walks right on your doorstep."

The cottage was dog friendly, as was the general area. The house was generally very clean, but there were some items like pots and pans that previous visitors had used that hadn't been properly cleaned. There were roadworks on the road up to the property when we stayed, and we needed to work around these, as they made the house inaccessible. This was OK for us but would have been very difficult for anyone hoping to use the house as a base for driving to other parts of Yorkshire. These would really be my only very minor criticisms and me, my partner and my dog all had such a lovely time!

For general information we are informed the road works have now been completed. Property Owner

  • "We loved the property and greatly enjoyed our stay - the walks were amazing and the location very convenient for exploring this lovely part of Yorkshire."

Two pieces of feedback - - the travel directions in the listing were inaccurate - they should have said turn LEFT at the Coop in Hebden Bridge. (This caused us to end up in an dead end and doing a difficult manoeuvre in the dark) - we arrived very late and at that time the heating was not on which resulted in a cold welcome

  • "The cottage was so comfortable very well presented ,everything was as it said in the description."

The views from both sides of the cottage are so beautiful and we were lucky enough to enjoy the patio area on a couple of mornings being October we didn't expect that so that was a bonus ! We used to holiday at Horsehold many years ago in the cottage further up and have always loved this area and in the times it was so good to see that Hebden Bridge is still the same lovely place to wander and enjoy. A great cottage to return to at the end of a days wandering and the people are stil as freindly as we remember...great holiday all round..wee mention to The Stubbing Wharf pub great place to eat with very reasonable prices!

  • "1 Horsehold is a great place to stay."

The cottage itself is comfortable and well appointed but the best thing about it is the location & views. Lie in bed and look out over the hilltops or sit in the garden and look at the blue sky over Stoodley Pike.

Located in a secluded spot, we had the most serene and tranquil weekend, yet it’s only a 15 minute walk down the hill into charming and bustling Hebden with it’s many restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Nice seating area outside with a view across to Stoodley Pike, perfect to relax with a drink and watch the sun go down. I didn’t want to leave.
