Its an amazing house with fantastic facilities, beautiful countryside and scenery. The owner ,Jo,was lovely and made us very welcome on our arrival, came each morning to clean the hot tub . We were left on arrival a lovely welcome box with some nice treats and scrummy home made biscuits , they were delicious The house is so spacious and is really clean ( I'm a bit OCD and have high standards ) but it was spotless. the bedrooms were really well fitted and the beds were so comfy and lovely white linen and fluffy towels. The children's room had 4 single beds and the TV was a real bonus for them to play on their x box video games etc .( give the grown ups a bit of peace ) . The main bedroom was beautiful, with walk in wardrobe and en suite . Main upstairs bathroom so spacious and lovely free standing bath . Lounge is huge and very comfy , TV , lovely fire very comfy sofas and chairs , perfect for a chill out day if weather bad lots of board games .The kitchen and dining area are fantastic, there is everything you need and more , so well equipped they have thought of everything. The hot tub and wooden bar are a really great feature with lovely fluffy robes and towels and this really made our holiday, the children loved it ,and the big children loved it even more. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a family holiday / party / celebration.Could not fault this accommodation it was well worth every penny . Would definitely go again

The cottage

The Retreat provides a fabulous "get away from it all" location and comprises a stone built farm property which stands at the head of an unspoilt valley high above the picturesque market town of Hebden Bridge.

It sits in a remote location in spectacular countryside with ever changing breathtaking views.

There are walks direct from the property into a landscape made famous by Cathy and Heathcliffe and other characters made famous by the Bronte Family.

For cycling fans the property's position alongside the Tour De France route at the top of the "Cote de Oxenhope" means that the famous climbs of the area can be accessed direct from the doorstep.

When you're not out discovering the wonders of West Yorkshire, unwind in one of three enticing sitting areas.

The main sitting room provides plenty of comfortable leather seating, accompanied by a large woodburning stove and a Smart TV, so you can relax in warmth and comfort watching your favourite shows.

For some peace and quiet, take yourself off to one of the snug rooms, one of which benefits from a warming woodburner.

Prepare your meals in style in The Retreats lavish kitchen, complete with stylish fittings and granite worktops, plus views of the nearby fields even make washing up a delight.

The dining room is filled with charm, showcasing exposed stone walls and complete with a TV.

A ground floor bedroom provides sleeping accommodation on the same level as other amenities.

The ground floor is topped off with a sumptuous tiled shower room.

Upstairs, you will find the four well-presented bedrooms.

One is a family room with four single beds (can be twin and super king-size double on request).

One of the king-size rooms comes with the added luxury of a contemporary shower room and walk-in wardrobe.

A family bathroom with an elegant freestanding bath and a separate shower complete the interior of the property.

The excellence of The Retreat continues to its exterior, where you can indulge yourself in the luxury hot tub whilst admiring your wonderful surroundings, free from light pollution with a glass of bubbly.

Hebden Bridge is close by, offering a host of high-quality amenities in a characterful environment.

Characterful, charming buildings and much to do in the surrounding area make this a perfect holiday base.

From here you can discover some incredible sights and activities, avid walkers can easily reach both the Forest of Bowland AONB and the Yorkshire Dales.

The Retreat is a comforting cottage property in a fabulous rural location.
