“Smashing Cottage in a lovely Village in the heart of Yorkshire.”
..never been to that area before..lovely. ... It was blowing a hoolie...it poured down with rain all week...and there was road works in the Village....but none of that made the slightest difference....the Cottage was in the heart of the Village of Grassington...it was warm and welcoming...with a wood burning fire. ..took me back to my childhood. ..relished the task of lighting it...must have been the Boy Scout in me... I arrived in the middle of a 1940's Festival...you couldn't make it up...it was marvalous. ..had no idea it was taking place as I rocked up to ride my bike and do some walking for a week...captivating....completely disarming experience with the locals as actively involved as the visting re-enactors....nothing ...including typical British weather could dampen the fun...and within a day I felt completely at home...due soley to the lovely people who live and work in and around the Village...straightforward people who tell it as it is...couldn't have a better advert for the area...without a doubt I will be returning...and you never know...it may not rain...but that's why the place has smashing little Cafes and Pubs...we're you can hide and talk to complete strangers as if you have known them for years....Ha.
But WiFi would be good. We gave family all over the world and keep in touch via social media
“A. Cosy cottage, quiet and secluded but close to the centre of beautiful Grassington.”
The cottage was well equipped and ideal for the two of us.
“It was a very comfortable cottage which contained everything needed.”
The walls were extremely thick so even though it was very hot outside it was lovely and cool inside. Grassington has several cafes and pubs where you can eat if you don’t feel like cooking. The countryside is also very beautiful.
“A) received very clear information on how to get there b) excellent communication on matters like how to get the key c) location surpassed our expectations general Very pleased with the clear way Sykes, concerning our booking and payments : its is reassurring to deal with a professional organization.”
My tip: advertise more in the Netherlands , I stumbled across Sykes thanks to a tip from an English business associate.
“Lovely cottage, comfortable, warm and cosy.”
Everything was there and plenty of logs for fire in the shed, meaning we were lovely and cosy. Well equipped, had everything we required.
“Spot on for what we wanted, only negative is parking isn't as easy as it suggests.”
4 Hilltop Fold, Grassington is a delightful cottage and full of character. It's lovely and and quiet, although close to the village centre. It is very comfortable; the kitchen is well equipped, and milk, tea-bags and biscuits were provided for guests' arrival. It's an ideal place to relax and the wood-burning stove makes it cosy and warm.
“Really quiet and relaxing”
Really lovely accommodation very comfortable and well equipped. The log burner so great for feeling at home and cosy. The village has several pubs we found the foresters arms really friendly and accommodating to the point when my brother and sister I law needed a taxi the landlord provided his wife and what's more did not expect payment. Really fab place to go we have looked at property prices but sadly can't afford it what a place to live.
“4 Hill Top Fold - an absolute delight, surrounded by the beautif”
This is a cosy cottage for 2 tucked away in a pretty and quiet spot at the top of delightful Grassington village, with a peaceful little garden at the front of the property. An ideal spot for a walking break in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, with many walks possible from the door. Highly recommended, just as described on the website. Do bring a torch to access the key storage if you are arriving after dark. 5 minutes walk to all the amenities of the village. Loved walking out in the morning and looking at the surrounding dales - all visible from the garden. Likewise, a great spot for an early evening drink.
“Charming, Cosy and Convenient.”
What a great find. Spotlessly clean and inviting with a lovely front garden to watch the sun rise and set over the dales. Every need catered for from the small but well equipped kitchen to fluffy towels, comfortable bed and fuel for the log burner. The welcome provisions of a selection of teas, coffees, milk and home made marmalade was a nice surprise and gratefully received (thank you). The position of the cottage is very convenient with the cobbled square (where you can enjoy a good selection of inns and eateries) only a two minute away. Hope to return in the near future.
Lovely cosy cottage with every facility - within walking distance of several pubs/restaurants - loved the log burner! Highly recommend

Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer’s market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous “Strid Walk”. A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.
