“We really enjoyed our stay the rooms and kitchen were really tidy and clean.”

However we all did try to connect to wifi but did not work and for 7 people we did need more toilet paper and the shower which was mentioned to us was temperamental. On the whole we all enjoyed ourselves.

About the property

Harrogate 8.5 miles.

Tucked away on the outskirts of the leafy village of Darley rests this charming stone-built holiday home, The Cottage at Nidderdale.

Perfectly positioned within the picturesque landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Cottage at Nidderdale is a wonderful base for your next group adventure to the countryside.

Kick off your walking boots as you step over the threshold and into this lovely dwelling, where you'll be delighted by the rustic charm of the spacious sitting room, decorated with exposed wooden beams and framing scenic views across the surrounding dales, offering a homely setting to put your feet up with a cup of tea after a day filled with adventure.

Continuing further, enter into the farmhouse-style galley kitchen, housing all of the essential amenities necessary to prepare a heart-warming meal for the group, gathering your loved ones around the nearby dining table to serve, providing a sociable space to spend your evenings together.

If you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, enjoy a leisurely seat on the patio to indulge in a spot of alfresco dining, where you can soak in the scenic views across the peaceful countryside as you toast a refreshing drink to a fabulous holiday.

Completing the ground-floor is a thoughtfully laid-out double bedroom, perfect for guests with limited mobility; wake as the sun rises over the nearby dales and floods the room with natural light.

When sleep calls, climb the stairs to the first-floor where you'll find three further bedrooms, the master, fit with a sumptuous king-size bed, alongside a twin room and a snug single, offering an intimate escape from the excitement, all of which are serviced by a stylish family bathroom, fit with a tub to enjoy a leisurely soak of an evening.

Take a break from doing the cooking and take the short stroll into the heart of Darley to treat your loved ones to a hearty meal at The Wellington Inn, a traditional country village pub dating back to the 18th century, serving delicious home-cooked goods alongside a warming Yorkshire welcome.

After satisfying your appetite, get better acquainted with your surroundings and explore the picturesque landscape of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, made up of open moorland, rolling hills and quaint villages, home to Nidderdale Museum, displaying fascinating exhibitions of local history, and the unique National Trust site of Brimham Rocks.

For a night on the town, head to the nearby town of Harrogate, home to a plethora of elegant pubs and bars, or if that's not your thing, there's a host of sights and attractions across the town worth visiting, such as the Royal Pump Room Museum, recounting Harrogate's story as a spa town, and the 17 acres of colourful parkland at Valley Gardens Harrogate.
