  • "We had a nice stay, the conservatory was lovely with great views."

The front room was nice and cosy. The kitchen is very small which wasn't a problem for us and we ate out but if you were planning on cooking it might be a bit tricky. The main problem for us was the bed in the master bedroom, it was so uncomfortable, worst I think I've ever slept on, definitely needs replacing. Overall the cottage is nice but needs some maintenance, two door handles came off in my hand, the sink in the bathroom doesn't turn off property and a few things could just do with updating. Also the property is up a couple of very steep hills from the main town so is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We had a toddler in a buggy and coming back from town was certainly a good work out! Again this was fine for us as we like walking and keeping fit but might prove difficult for some people.

We're sorry to hear that you felt the mattress was uncomfortable, We are in the process of checking all the mattresses in the property to ensure a comfortable stay for everyone, We are sorry this didn't meet your expectations and we will address any issues that we find. The bathroom taps have been checked but found to be okay and the door handles have been adjusted/tightened up. Thank you for your feedback, We aim to provide everyone with a pleasant stay so we will be actioning any issues found. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely."

The owners had even dressed it for Christmas. That was such a lovely thing to do. It was also a nice touch to leave a welcome basket, even to think of our dog. The views from the conservatory were fantastic. We sat watching the birds for ages. It's a little far for us to walk to the village so we couldn't go out on a night. So we just went in the car during the day to the different places. The only thing that we found was that the taps up and downstairs were difficult to turn off and the cold tap in the kitchen couldn't even turn on. It wasn't a problem as we used bottled water. The toilet was very tiny, we are not big people but we found it hard to maneuver. Other than that the whole holiday was lovely. Apart from the awful weather. Totally beyond your control. Thank you for a great time. Karan and Trevor Collins, and of course Khaleesi our border collie.

  • "The cottage was very pretty & compact with the view from the conservatory outstanding."

The only complaint we had was that we felt the bed linen hadn’t been changed from the previous stay. It didn’t smell at all fresh & the flat sheet was all creased up in both double beds even the top bunk which we checked, but didn’t have to use with only the 2 of us staying there. Apart from that issue we had a lovely stay. We had great weather & managed to get out & about the area.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our lovely property. We agree the view is outstanding and has been appreciated by many customers staying in our lovely home. Having checked with the cleaning team, we can assure you the linens were changed and had you notified us of any issues, we would have rectified these immediately. Kind regards Property Owner

The only downfall is the kitchen is a bit small, but manageable. The conservatory was lovely with lovely view.

Hi, We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. The kitchen is a little small but we feel this has been reflected on the photos online. The conservatory is just off the kitchen which is a real bonus especially with the fantastic views. We hope this won't prevent you from booking again. Regards. Darren & Sharron Feather. • "Lovely cosy cottage with great views from the conservatory/dining room."

Didn't spoil our holiday but I think the information folder needs updating slightly. It mentions a gas fire that clearly has been replaced with a wonderful log/coal burner. Also we only realised on our last day that the small "gadget" on the mantle shelf was a thermostat control for the central heating. As I said didn't spoil our stay because the weather was good and we loved the cost fire in the evenings.

Thank You for your Feedback, We're glad you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful views. I will get the welcome pack updated ASAP to reflect the change with the gas fire and stove. There are instructions there on how to use the stove and kindling and logs are provided so hopefully that didn't cause too much of a problem. The thermostat is set to 21 so hopefully you were nice and warm, I will however look into either labelling up the thermostat and/or adding it to the welcome pack as this too has only just been installed. Once again Thank you for your feedback, It's appreciated as it helps us grow, learn and provide the best we can. We hope that you'll be back soon. Regards. Darren & Sharron Property Owner

ideal for a Winter break. Gorgeous views across the valley - plenty of moorland walks and the surrounding villages are well worth a visit. Being dog friendly is a bonus - our collie managed the steps down to the garden with no problem . Thoroughly recommend.

  • "Kitchen is very small and 4 slice toaster is not fit next to the hob and cabinets."

One of the blind was stuck near the dinning table which was restricting the beautiful view outside. Cottage is beautiful and comfortable.

Thank you for your feedback. The 4 slice toaster has now been removed and replaced with a 2 slice toaster. The kitchen is a little on the small side but we have shown this in the photographs online. The blinds I have had checked and there appears to be no problem with them. Sykes or the property manager would have happily sorted any issues had they been contacted at the time. Regards. Darren & Sharron Property Owner

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
