  • "Great cottage and not a long walk at all into Haworth."

Handy that it’s dog friendly. Spacious and great for families I’m sure. Well stocked and good contact from the owner. Handy that it has its own parking

All of our needs were catered for and this made our stay perfect. The walk to Haworth village was a little taxing for the oldest member of our party but there is good access to a local bus service and a couple of pubs close to the property. Overall, a brilliant place to stay.

Great having super king & king bed. Haworth is a great location for exploring the whole area. The parking is good as can park at the front or back & the neighbour is very friendly. The cottage location was good a 10 min walk to the village centre but an easy one & there’s a local shop round the corner.

The location was a great base for visiting nearby towns and offered some lovely walks for us and our dogs. Would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to visit again. Thanks Chris

Worked well for our family break. Lots to explore and do in the area. Lots of attention to detail and added touches to give a welcoming feel to the cottage. I was a little worried about parking initially as it's very tight but it was fine and the neighbours were very friendly.

We were provided with essentials to make a much needed brew when we arrived. We had a parking spot right outside the back door and where we had a chat with the friendly neighbour. Brontë hotel next door serves delicious food with great service. We will definitely be back again. Thank you.

  • "Gable Cottage was a spacious and cosy cottage."

Good communication with owners, who were quick to sort out an issue. Yes the busy road outside is quite noticeable. Neighbours are very friendly. Brontë Hotel next door is a must. Fantastic food and very friendly staff. Both TVs do not have normal channels (Now TV, ITVX or Netflix), but if you are only using the TVs in the evening, then it’s not really a problem. Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer are in the cellar. Having no outside space is a bit strange. I loved the way the neighbours put all their washing on a washing line across the back of the property. We would definitely return. Thanks to Chris & Cheryl and Claire the cleaner.

  • "We stayed for a 3 night break and the cottage is perfect!"

Was a short walk into the village but if it's an issue for anyone (as it is up-hill for the walk back) the buses are easily caught outside of the property. The cottage has everything you would require and we particularly liked the fact that it was homely and comfortable without the need to clutter it with things. The kitchen is fantastic! The bedrooms were large with very comfortable beds. All was immaculately clean. Parking was not an issue as the cottage has it's own designated spot, aswell as being able to park on the road. We found it a great base for everything that we wanted to do. Lots of lovely places to eat and drink. Little, independent shops to wander around. Beautiful parks around for our youngest. The host, Chris, also sent a really comprehensive welcome pack and advised us to book places as it does get quite busy. We really appreciated this as it allowed us to chose exactly what we wanted to do in advance. We would love to return!

We had a lovely time at Gable Cottage, I had the best sleep i've had for ages. Everything we needed was at hand, and the neighbours were really lovely and friendly too. The owners were very quick to respond to any queries and were really accommodating. We went on the Haworth 1940s weekend, so it was a really busy event, and the cottage was the perfect base. Not too far from the town, but away from the noise. Lovely stay! Absolute bonus that they are dog friendly too, makes such a difference.

Was further out of Haworth than had envisaged from the description. We like to walk into town to visit restaurants and this was a little too far for that. TV was a disappointment as other than through I player there was no live TV. Luckily we had a laptop and were able to stream. Also couldn't make use of Netflix as didn't have our own account.

The cottage has its own parking space, which is a bonus as many in this village don't, so there is no need to rely on payable car parks a walk away from the cottage. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to make it a welcoming and enjoyable visit. The cottage has great beds, a large kitchen area with plenty of equipment should you want to cook a meal and a comfortable living room. There are plenty of places to visit within a 30 minute drive plus having the village of Haworth, with nice pubs, restaurants and cafes, on the doorstep makes this a great base. We would be more than happy to stay at this cottage again.

Negative points were situated on a busy road and parking at the front up a kerb not used by our 2nd car. Settees in the front room very uncomfortable and on the last night with it being very windy outside the vent in the bathroom was very noisy and rattling and disturbed our sleep until we closed the bathroom door.

Thank you for your feedback. There is private parking for one car at the property for additional cars it is roadside parking. It is very windy up on the moors we are sorry this disturbed you, pleased that you could not hear this when the door was closed. We are glad that you enjoyed the cottage and would love to welcome you back in the future. It was beautifully decorated, warm, cosy and very inviting. It had everything you could have wished for, from the tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival to the very comfortable big bed. It was very well placed in the area for Hebden Bridge and Bingley for the canals and Skipton. We also went to The Bronte Museum which was a 20 minute walk from the house. The Haworth Old Hall Inn does very good food. We were very lucky to see the 1940's day in Haworth which included people dressing up and other things going on. We would definitely book again.

  • "We think the accuracy of a short walk to restaurants etc is a little misleading as it is more than a short walk it is a good 15 minute walk down hill and back up hill."

Main Street is far more than 15 minutes to walk so perhaps just let people know this. It didn’t really bother us as we drove so not an issue but some people may not want to take the car of an evening. We mentioned to the owner that they may want to install a tv Ariel as the tv is confusing to watch live programmes but we coped do all good for us. Overall the cottage was decorated to a wonderful standard and we loved it.

Thank you for your feedback. I believe there was a heat wave at the time and I am sorry for any noise issues you encountered as it would have been very busy in the area during your stay. About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
