“Cobble cottage has everything anyone could need for a lovely holiday, it is warm and welcoming, all the furnishings are good quality, the bed is extremely comfy and the decor stylish.”

We couldn’t fault it, it’s probably the nicest cottage we’ve stayed in. Heptonstall is also lovely, the local people were friendly and the pubs were welcoming. Scenery gorgeous, we walked miles. All in all we had a fab time

“Relaxation from start to finish”

We had a fabulous stay at Cobble Cottage in Heptonstall. The cottage was clean and cared for and had everything we needed. The location was peaceful and we slept really well. The neighbours were friendly and we felt welcome in the area. Heptonstall is a beautiful area with wonderful views, lots of walking opportunities and plenty of history to explore. There are some great pubs with beer gardens. We often visited Hebden Bridge which is lively, bustling and full of things to see and do and we tended to walk down and get the bus back (currently just once an hour). We also visited Gibson Mill and Hardcastle Craggs. It was a perfect location for us;close enough to walk into Hebden Bridge, a great starting point for longer walks or trips out but providing a clean, comfortable, relaxing base to return to each day. Just what we hoped for.

“We had a really fabulous holiday from start to finish at Cobble Cottage in Heptonstall.”

The cottage was clean and cared for and had everything we needed. The location was peaceful and we slept really well. The neighbours were friendly and we felt welcome in the area. Heptonstall is very beautiful with cobbled streets, amazing views, walks to enjoy and history to explore. There is a small post office which sells papers, food and general items which you might need. There are some great pubs with relaxing beer gardens. We tended to walk down into Hebden Bridge and get the bus back (once an hour at the moment). The weather was generally good so we did plenty of walking. We visited Hebden Bridge several times and also Mythemroyd (delicious pub lunch at The Shoulder of Mutton pub) and Gibson Mill and Hardcastle Craggs. We walked to all these places from the cottage but buses were available. We liked the Town Hall cafe in Hebden Bridge and The Old Gate pub. We highly recommend the cottage. It was a perfect holiday location, especially ideal if you like peace and quiet, walking and relaxation.

“I have to admit I booked this cottage without properly looking at all of the details - we just needed a base close to Hebden Bridge at short notice.”

But what a great surprise this was cottage was. Lovely little community set back in a very friendly little village. Met loads of the neighbours who were always up for a chat and giving us recommendations of where to go and what to do. We ended up taking the long way up from Hebden Bridge because we followed the sat nav - but, I really didn't mind the detour, but to avoid it just look at for the slip road (you'll know what I mean when you get there). The village has little cobbled streets and private roads that are little more than rutted driveways, which just added to it's charm. We would definitely book this cottage again.

I think you should make it REALLY clear that the main bedroom is accessed through the second bedroom: didn't bother us as we were just 2 people, but it would only be suitable for a family with kids, not 2 couples!

“ONE OF THE BEST”

Set in the quiet, pretty village of Heptonstall, this us an excellent base for country walks and rambles locally and further afield. We enjoyed visits to Hardcastle Crags and the small but vibrant town of Hebden Bridge with uts quirky shops restaurants and cafes. Heptonstall has excellent views of and access to the surrounding countryside and a very welcoming pub with good food and a choice of beers. You can also find the resting place of Sylvia Plath here !! Returnng after our excursions was a treat. Warm and cosy,beautifully furnished and decorated, Cobble Cottage with its roaring fire was very welcome indeed. Will definitely return.

“Girls weekend away”

A fabulous stay with friends in this beautiful cottage. The area is close to Hebden Bridge with stunning views and access to any walking routes. The cottage is outstanding, it is cosy and beautifully furnished and decorated. The owners have clearly taken pride in making it so welcoming for their visitors. “Peaceful Haven”

Stayed here with girlfriends for a long weekend and had an absolutely fabulous time . The cottage is tastefully newly furnished to an excellent standard. Situated in a gorgeous quaint village away from the hustle and bustle of busy life , yet close enough to Hebden Bridge to enjoy the shopping village , cosy cafes and restaurants . We enjoyed some scenic walks , a gorgeous meal in a nearby local restaurant , a few drinks in the local pub and a cosy night in with a real log burner fire . Couldn’t have asked for more . It was a perfect weekend and will definitely be going back .

“A beautiful little 2 bed cottage in a spectacular area.”

Hepstonstall was full of history, and we felt like we had stepped back in time. With 2 traditional local pubs, a play area for the children, a museum, 2 churches and numerous walking and running routes - there was plenty to do for everyone. Both me and my husband run so enjoyed the challenging terrain and spectacular views whilst out running, The cottage was extremely cosy and well equipped, and the hosts were extremely generous with the supply of wood. The were also hugely patient with us and helpful upon our arrival when we phoned them lost :-) There wasn't any assigned parking directly outside of the cottage but we didn't mind as there was a car park a few minutes walk away. I would recommend this cottage in a heart beat

“We went to stay at Cobble Cottage over New Year.”

We had a lovely time. The cottage was really nice and perfect for our family of four. The children had bunk beds which they loved. We spent a day at Hardcastle Crags which had an easier walk which our toddler and 5 year old managed no problem. We had lots of fun. On New Years Eve we went to the Victoria Theatre in Halifax to watch Snow White. We enjoyed this. We also visited the cake shop which is at the end of the road. The cakes were delicious!! The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and the Christmas Tree and decorations were a lovely touch. We also enjoyed the lovely local jam and other things that were left for our arrival. Liz phoned us prior to our stay to give us some information which was great. She seemed lovely. Thank you Liz!!

“What a gem!”

Had a heavenly three day stay last weekend Gorgeous cosy cottage with great facilities- wonderful comfy bed, great shower, wood burning stove (which we used in the evenings), well equipped kitchen, spacious cellar with washing machine, dryer and freezer and with two comfy settees in the lounge. Great décor and use of colours and pictures. Incredibly peaceful spot, bird song and great views to be had around the village. Magical walks though woods full of bluebells & wild garlic, and along streams and canals full of wildlife Great local pubs All the simple pleasures! We will definitely be back

Here are our thoughts: Heptonstall is a village from another age with cobbled streets, narrow openings and immense charm. Bear this in mind that the village was not designed for cars and have a little patience parking (free car park a few minutes walk). The cottage has everything you need and is presented beautifully. The bedroom especially felt like still at home not in a rental. Bed was super comfy with lovely duvet. Bathroom excellent with good shower. Lounge has a wood burner (not needed on this lovely bank holiday weekend), great sofas, broadband, all you need. We had a great stay and honestly the only feedback for the owners is maybe could have done with a full length mirror! Good job and good luck with the cottage, I am sure we will be back.

The property

An end-terrace cottage situated in the small village of Heptonstall, near the town of Hebden Bridge in the upper Calderdale Valley.

Tastefully decorated throughout, this property is the perfect destination for a couple or family wanting a break in the Yorkshire countryside.

Wander along the charming cobbled streets of Heptonstall and you will find this lovely stone-built cottage.

Step into the property and you will find yourself in the cosy sitting room, complete with a dining area, comfortable sofas and warming wood burner, perfect for putting your feet up and relaxing after exploring the local area.

Through a door you will come upon a fully-appointed kitchen, with a further door to one side hiding a staircase down to a cellar with a handy utility area with log storage and the washer/dryer/freezer.

Upstairs there is a light and airy double bedroom with lovely open views.

Additionally there is a walk-through bedroom with 2 adult bunks and built-in wardrobe/cupboard.

The bathroom consists of a spacious corner shower, which is also on this floor.

The cottage includes many period features including the stone surround to the fireplace and the stripped back doors to the first floor.

Heptonstall is a characterful village in upper Calderdale Valley that seems almost untouched by time, full of winding cobbled streets and stone-built cottages, with the main street not appearing to have changed in the last 200 years.

There are two characterful pubs, a café and post office/shop.

Explore at your leisure to discover the unique arrangement of 2 churches within the same graveyard, the story of the coin clippers and the grave of Sylvia Plath.

There are plenty of walking opportunities in the area with Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way nearby, as well as cycling routes and scenic drives.

The lovely Calderdale Way passes within feet of Cobble Cottage.

The town of Hebden Bridge is a short drive or walk away (albeit steep !) and is a friendly centre full of quirky shops, pubs, eateries and boutiques.

Why not hire a boat on the Rochdale canal or visit the independent cinema?

The famous village of Haworth with its Bronte Parsonage Museum is a short drive over the moors.

Cobble Cottage is a lovely character stone built cottage in the charming village of Heptonstall and is the perfect destination for you to get away and relax.

The attractive, little Pennine town of Hebden Bridge sits within the Calderdale area and provides home to the picturesque Rochdale Canal and a delightful Victorian railway station. Excellent walking country, with the National Trust owned Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way close by, this delightful location is also the first 'Walkers are Welcome' town in the UK, a scheme supported by the Ramblers’ Association. Alternatively, scenic drives and fabulous cycling, as featured on 2nd stage of the 2014 Tour de France, 2015 Tour de Yorkshire and 2018 Tour de Yorkshire, can be enjoyed from your doorstep. Journey to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. The area is also a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway, whilst the highly acclaimed Eureka Museum is in Halifax, noted for its unique Piece Hall and its Victorian architecture.
