  • "Everything was perfect except for the WiFi."

Badger is the last cottage in the row, so it's got very sketchy reception. I would recommend adding another repeater to your network and that would resolve any problems.

Thanks Michael I will pass on your feedback. We've already put a repeater in so will try to add another one to see if it helps. Glad everything else is ok. N Property Owner

  • "The property was as per the owners description unfortunately this didn't always match Sykes' description."

It would be more useful prior, to booking the property, to know that wi-fi was 'country wi-fi' (i.e. almost non-existent) and the sanitary system was very fragile. Even the TV took 2 days adjustment to find the only position for the internal aerial where you could get a picture for a very limited list of channels. If this was all made clear prior to booking we'd have a better idea what to expect.

  • "Absolutely faultless!"

everything about the place was perfect, the Pod had everything we needed, the location was quiet and the farm animals and local wildlife were wonderful. A great base for exploring Yorkshire in all directions. Nina & Phil are really good hosts and the welcome pack (milk, cakes and wine) were a really nice touch. P.S. Phil, you were right on closer inspection of the photos, they were Black Sheep we saw and not the Black Pigs in the lower field, but in my defence it was dark! Ha ha!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and it was a real pleasure to meet you both ! You did have us wondering about the pigs though haha we thought they had escaped. Really looking forward to seeing you again soon. With love Nina & Phil xx Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful find!"

Usually we would travel further afield when choosing a 3 night break but this accommodation caught our eye and we have no regrets whatsoever. We couldn’t believe we were only 1hr 15 mins drive away from our usual home town. It felt like we were millions of miles away, a beautiful rural retreat indeed. This farm is run by 4 people, Nina & Phil and Claire & Jason who are passionate about what they do. Their ethos is incredible with regards to nature and the environment and they could not have made our stay any better if they’d tried. They rear rare breeds, sheep, chicken, geese, pigs and to see the resident Badger, Hare, Owl and Rabbits was a wonderful sight. We were also lucky enough to help out and meet the animals face to face too - a wonderful experience to hand feed them. It was so lovely and chilled out that we stayed a further night! Just a short stroll (5 mins) down to the canal towpath and we were en route to the local pub for our evening meal but you don’t need to leave your cabin to eat (unless you can’t cook) as it has everything you need and more during your stay. We used the patio BBQ several times during our stay. Peace, tranquility and more memories and friends made. Will will be returning without a doubt. Thanks for a wonderful stay

thanks for the lovely feedback! it was so great to meet you both and thanks for helping with the animals! you both will make great shepherds if you fancy a career change. Really looking forward to you coming back, please try and time it for around lambing time! With love Nina & P J&C xx Property Owner
