  • "A beautiful cottage."

Everything we needed to make a perfect weeks stay.

  • "On arrival all looked ok."

Trouble was the steps down to the kitchen were far too steep for a couple our age. I am 83 and so I think that it should have been made more clear. Everything we needed was available in the cottage but however the Hot Water was not hot enough for a bath, plus there were no grab rails to help anyone get out of the bath or the shower. The whole place would have greatly benefitted with a lick of paint. The brochure described as being able to enjoy a drink outdoors on the front, we’ll I’m sorry the view was defiantly not a pleasure to sit and look at. The lounge itself was thick of dust, it hadn’t had what we would consider a though clean in a long time. We came home very disappointed, one goes away to come back home feeling relaxed, well I’m afraid it was quite the opposite.

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at our cottage. I would like to respond to some of your points by saying, we have grab rails on the bath, the bath is cast iron so probably cools water down quite quickly but the water is very hot, the staircase is standard for a cottage of this age and has a handrail. I would struggle to see where the dust is as we have a high standard of cleaning and have never had a negative comment and as for the view it is a sitting out area that is quiet and peaceful and I apologise if the traditional outlook isn't to your taste. We have never had any issues with people staying in this cottage and if you look at feedback and read the visitors book it is clear that people thoroughly enjoy their stay, and a lot come back time after time. The cottage is in a great position for local amenities. Less than a minutes walk to a nice pub, park to take the dog and to the lovely quaint Main Street of Haworth. Only small niggles were the one towel per person for the week and the cottage advertises a table and chairs in the front patio area but they weren’t there. However there was a bench to sit on. You can catch the sun there between 2-7pm. Overall the cottage is provides a couple with good space. There is a nice big kitchen too. We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend staying in this cottage in the lovely town of Haworth.

  • "Beautiful cottage, in perfect position for walking, sight seeing and relaxing, Close to the centre of Haworth, we found Chapel View cosy and comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed for our week away and enjoyed the close proximity it provided to good places to eat and shop."

Parking was a bit of a challenge as the streets around the cottage were narrow and full of residents vehicles however the neighbourhood was very friendly and residents helpful with solutions. Only two little niggles, the tiny bath towels and the lack of a recycling bin, the information in the welcome book was confusing on this matter. Despite this we had a really relaxing, comfortable week in Chapel View and would definitely return and recommend to others.

  • "Chapel View Cottage was exactly as described and, as other reviewers have commented, generally better and more comfortable than it appears in the photographs."

The location was excellent and parking on nearby streets easy - although for unloading and loading car at beginning and end of stay you can park outside the kitchen door entrance - extremely useful if like us you have a dog with a cumbersome dog bed! As the heating was very efficient and there was the option of lighting the real fire, it would also be an excellent cottage for a colder months staycation! Communication with the owners was easy and they responded very quickly to texts so if there had been any problem we felt reassured that it would have been dealt with efficiently. There was also a generous supply of necessaries like toilet paper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets - not something every cottage provides. We would happily return to this cottage in the future.

A great base for exploring the local area. Cottage was so comfortable and the kitchen was much larger than expected, whilst having a lovely homely feel. We have visited Haworth before but never stayed, but now that we have found this delightful cottage we will be returning.

  • "It was rebook from cancellation in April."

Couldnt get same house nr Chester so booked Haworth instead. Should be noted Haworth is built on a hill and any walking from the property will require ability to walk some fairly steep inclines so not suitable for all. Chapel View house is one room 3 levels so again mobility is a factor. Owners had no recycling bin and there was no info in cottage about village recycling site which we found nr railway station. Cottage well restored lots of space for two and good location for main street with pubs cafes and shops.

Generally well equipped, clean and comfortable. My only criticism would be that for any property charging in excess of £500 per week for accommodation at peak times, the lack of a wifi facility is a minus point and consequently I am unable to give it full marks on facilities.

Only quibble would be about outside dustbin - which was full on arrival (presumably not emptied on 5th) and not emptied on 12th. Should there be a black bin as well, as we assumed because the only one is green, it was meant for recycling. No info re this in the cottage.

Everything had been thought of to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Howarth was a lovely village and the Parsonage was so good we went twice. There were lots of lovely shops and eating places on the way up to the Parsonage with some great coffee houses and the Old Inn Hall was a particular favourite. Another great benefit for the area was the bus service which was great going in any direction.

  • "The photos of Chapel View on the website do not do justice to this lovely cottage."

It is a 19th century cottage that has been beautifully and sensitively restored by its owners. Its set over three floors, so spacious, but still feels very cosy. It's right in the heart of everything - a short walk from the steam railway station and bus stops, and literally across the road from the main high street, a stone's throw to the moors and great walks. The cottage is in a very quiet 'unadopted' road, and it was nice to feel part of the neighbourhood rather than a tourist. We really enjoyed our stay. It was easy to get in touch with the owner to arrange key collection etc, and they gave us lots of information both o the phone and via maps, leaflets and booklets about the area placed in the house. Both check in and check out was seamless, and the owner was easily contactable about these arrangements. Highly, highly recommended.

It's a comfortable cottage in an excellent location within walking distance to the many cafes and pubs in the village. The neighbours are extremely friendly as are all the shop owners and our two dogs were welcome everywhere. There is so much walking and exploring right from the doorstep you wouldn't need to take your car out. As a previous guest mentioned, the cottage is on three floors and the stairs are quite steep so it might not suit everybody. For us it just added to all the uphill down dale exercise we got throughout the week which we thoroughly enjoyed. Jenny, Paul, Angus & Murphy

Everything very thoughtfully and lovingly laid out and organised - from towel hooks on the backs of doors, to automatic hallway lighting, it felt very well thought out and simply but beautifully decorated. And not stuffed with the decorative tat and clutter so often found in holiday cottages! Really wonderful place, and with kind neighbours, too. Would love to go back there again.

Central Park also a couple of minutes is a credit to Haworth and must be the best kept park we've seen. Chapel View was everything we had hoped for and more, clean, well equipped with a nice enclosed garden at the front, opening into a little green lane so handy for our dogs. Tucked away in a quiet street but close to lots of places to eat and drink. The surrounding area, which was new to us, is absolutely beautiful. . We visited with 2 dogs and were warmly welcomed every where we went. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy and has everything you could need ( decent shower which isn't always the case!) And the owners have provided a little book detailing the renovation, which was a nice touch. Can thoroughly recommend the Old Registry for a very nice dinner. Would love to visit again.

It was very cosy and snug inside, a lovely pateo to sit outside on sunny days, facing a quiet and picturesque back alley. A good selection of books, films and games for those rainy evenings. The cottage is just a stones throw away from Haworth Main Street with all the old quaint houses and lovely shops, close to the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the lovely moors. It has a well equipped kitchen, which was very appreciated by us since I have an allergic child and can't eat out much. Also helps if you're traveling on a budget. For visitors with young children it might be good to know that the park across the road has a nice big playground, and from there it's just a short walk down to the train station with the old steam trains. We loved both Haworth and our cottage and had a lovely holiday, would love to be back at both!

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
