  • "A wonderful little cottage, conveniently located for the pebbled street with interesting artisan shops."

Everything in walking distance and of course the interesting Brontë museum. Our host, Laura, gave us a wonderful warm welcome and was full of facts and advice. The welcome pack was truly heartwarming (won’t spoil it for you!). Couldn’t recommend this wonderful home enough, it felt home from home. Definitely will return, as have many past guests. Thank you Gary and Laura for sharing this lovely home.

Aww Shena that is a wonderful review and top marks . Thank you so much . You are all certainly welcome back - I mean 2 days is just not long enough to explore the wonderful little gem of Haworth and what she has to offer. Hope to see you again soon . Laura ❤️ Property Owner

Clean & comfortable with everything you need & the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. Plenty of lovely pubs within a few minutes walk for a drink & food - the closest pub to the cottage Haworth Old Hall does great food & is worth a visit. The steam train is close by & a lovely way to spend a couple of hours - a stroll through the park & you’re at the station. If you’re visiting Yorkshire then Heather Corner is a great choice & the parking space is an added bonus!

Thank you Louise for that wonderful review . We are delighted you had a lovely week , spending time in Haworth and seeing all the preparations for the annual event of Haworthleen . We appreciate you mentioned our little drive, not many cottages in the village have a drive to park you car, we feel blessed for that space, and we do get many a booking just because we have a safe bed for their cars . It truly is a precious bonus and appreciated. Thank you so much . Property Owner

Aww Julie thank you for this 5* review so appreciated . I honestly think you were amazing - I couldn’t control the dreadful weather you experienced ( mind you so did the whole Uk) but it didn’t stop you getting out and seeing everything Haworth and the areas has to offer . In 3 days you’d done more than most do in a week . There is so much to do and see and still keep dry . I was met by Laura the owner on arrival who showed me around and explained everything. In fact I think it was the nicest welcome I,ve ever had. Good welcome basket of goodies. Parking excellent right next to the house, the house is very nicely decorated and furnished and very well equipped, I don’t think the owners have forgotten anything. You can tell that the owners love the house and I think that makes guests enjoy it more. I really liked the two little sitting out areas one behind the back and one at the side which are real little sun traps Howarth is stunning it is like stepping back in time with the cobbled Main Street and steam trains. Plenty of places to eat and drink all on your doorstep, good chippy just down the road. Plenty of good walks to do in the area the views are stunning. As usual with a weeks holiday I didn’t manage to fit everything in so a good excuse to come back, and when I do I will definitely book Heather Corner again, I can’t recommend it enough.

Thank you for this top marks review. Your comments really do describe Heather Corner and Haworth. Really touched that our love for her comes out - that’s exactly how we feel and most importantly we wish this feeling is felt by our guests and almost as if Heather Corners places her arms around all our guests and gives a warm hug. So when they leave they want to come back . Perfect , and certainly Steve you are welcome back anytime . You left her spotlessly clean even down to polishing all the chrome taps in the bathroom . I found the beds to be soft and very comfortable. The kitchen, though small, is well laid out with worktops etc and electric cooker easy to use. Back door opens outwards beneath a porch roof; this saves space in the kitchen. Kitchen window overlooks a tiny but pleasant garden with table and chairs which should get the sun in the afternoon. Also overlooked was an area of close neighbours' gardens - pleasant again, and expanded the view. Private parking for one car a godsend, as the (Victorian?) streets are narrow and can get a little congested with parked cars. Heating simple to operate, just three buttons on the wall and usual knobs on radiators. Some interesting DVDs in cabinet, and books, relating to the Brontes and The Railway Children. We enjoyed rewatching the latter, and visiting the very close-by filming locations.

First, Haworth was great, Victorian buildings, houses and shops. When you live in the flat part of Lincolnshire, hills and twisting roads are good fun. The locals are fun people, easy to get on with. Getting out and about was good, if you are in a hotel, or B and B, read the info that will be available. It you are in a house that you have got for the week, parking can be a pain. Off road parking would be very good, {in your dreams}. It was in our dreams. Over a year ago, we booked a weeks holiday with Sykes. The house was Heather corner, 13 prospect street, Haworth. Two bedrooms and bathroom up stairs, kitchen and living room down stairs, takes 4 . Well looked after by the owners who are a very nice pair. My fife and I got on very well with them .The best part of it was off road parking. Honest, off road parking. Also, the house is just a very short walk to the shops and pubs etc. Give it a try, well worth the money. And the years wait for that holiday was well worth it. Robert Fletcher.

The cottage had everything we could possibly need and more and Laura and Gary were great too. A little gem of a cottage. I was more than happy with the cleanliness of the cottage too especially in these days of Covid-19. All precautions had been taken and we were very reassured that we were safe and protected as much as possible. We have a four and six year old and any worries that the cottage may be a bit small were soon alleviated. The kids loved the little seating area and water feature and we did manage to sit out even though the weather all week was changeable! We found the packs of information really useful too, we found lots to do even though some places were still closed due to covid. A fab holiday to finish off the school hols!

Hand gel and antibacterial wipes were provided and clear guidlines were given as to what to do when our stay was finished with regard to bedding and towels. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy and is well placed for access to the many facilities in Haworth and for exploring the surrounding area. Howarth itself is very quaint and there is a wide selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and take aways. We ate out every evening and were impressed with the measures taken by the venues to keep us safe. We would thoroughly recommend Heather Corner.

We were warmly welcomed by Laura and her son Fraser who showed us around the cottage and gave us good advise on places to visit. Haworth village is the perfect location for walks, visiting local shops, pubs and places to eat, whilst still keeping history alive with the steam railway and the Bronte Parsonage. There are great places to visit in the surrounding area easily reached by car (having own parking space for the car was such a bonus). The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean with comfy beds and all our needs catered for. Once the door closed it was a peaceful place to relax and unwind. The owners were warm and generous and the thoughtful welcome pack was much appreciated! A lot of hard work went in to bringing Christmas to Heather Corner it was magical and made our stay extra special. Everything about our stay was perfect and we really did not want to leave. Ten out of ten for Heather Corner and it's owners we will be back! John & Karen

We were met by Gary who showed us around the cottage and informed us how the central heating worked. It is in an excellent location just minutes away from the centre of Haworth with private off road parking which is such a bonus. The decor is lovely with many personal touches. It is so well equipped to enable you to cater for yourselves. The welcome package was very generous with a bottle of white wine, gorgeous chocolates from a local shop, Yorkshire parkin biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, and milk in the fridge. A wonderful place to stay and I would recommend a stay without any hesitation. We met Laura before we left who is a lovely friendly person who you feel like to have known all your life. ( The only other comment with regard to the description by Sykes is that the property does not have a Smart TV and it only has a fridge with an icebox not an actual freezer but I had asked Gary before arriving about the freezer, so planned not to bring items to freeze and be able to cater for the week. )

Loved the many features and links to the heritage of the area (Bronte's, Railway Children, Walks, History) that you can see in the property and it was great to see how they clearly support local business with and some treats left for us such as the super chocolates on arrival to go along side a cuppa. The weather was disappointing but it didn't matter as the cottage is in walking distance of Haworth and the moors and just around the corner is the bus stop which has a very good service. There were so many pubs and eateries in Haworth all serving good food by friendly staff. We didn't have to take the car out all week and when we walked to Hebden Bridge - a long fabulous walk over the moors - we got the bus back to the cottage (the bus stop being just round the corner). This charming end of Terrace - 2 bedroom cottage became our Sanctuary & home for 2 weeks whilst we were bridging the gap between moving out of our old house and moving into our new home. On our arrival, Laura & Gary - the owners - left us a lovely welcoming note - to enjoy their holiday home - along with a surprise gift of wine and chocolates which was very much appreciated after our hectic removal schedule. The cottage was very clean and tidy, with all the amenities you could ever need, everything was immaculate and clean - so easy to use everything, they had thought of everything. I have to say the bed was the best we have ever slept in! It was so comfortable, had the best sleep in ages. Even the Single beds were really comfy. Free internet was also available, with TV and Video facility's too if you wanted it. The cottage is situated a short distance from the pub - literally across the road from the Old Hall, had a few good meals in there. It is very close to the old Main Street of Haworth and the park. At the back of the property there is a nice little patio area to sit out in and enjoy the sunshine with a nice aspect to look out on. It felt so peaceful there. Although it is near to all the attractions of Haworth, Prospect street is just set back enough to be private and peaceful, with Heather Corner having a good position and space around the property. We found everyone on the street to be really friendly. For us the best part, was being able to park our cars at the cottage. This cottage has ample parking facilities with off street parking at the side of the house, for 1 large car or 2 small to medium cars and a space In front of the cottage. This is such a bonus in Haworth as parking can be an issue. I would highly recommend this holiday let, had a lovely time there. Definitely would book again.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
