  • "Really lovely Cottage, very clean and well equipped, and superbly positioned for the main street or surrounding area."

We loved it. The stairs are a little scary and weren't ideal for our aging dogs but it was manageable for a week.

The only thing that I thought let it down slightly was that I found the mattress quite uncomfortable.

There was a minor blip on the first night but Geoff the owner sorted it straight away when I contacted him.

Haworth was such a great base- pubs, restaurants, shops very close by and beautiful walks in all directions from the door. Lits of places to visit on rainy days. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Our third year staying here. Bay cottage is cosy and comfortable. It is ideally situated for Haworth Main Street. Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants near by! The walks are outstanding! Highly recommend this quirky cottage.

  • "The owner was very kind as when we booked we only had the one dog."

We then got a new puppy and when we let them know they very graciously allowed us to bring her too. The only problem was that when we booked we hadn't anticipated a puppy and the cottage wasn't very puppy friendly due to the open stairs. That was a bit of a struggle but that was totally our fault. A beautiful place which I will definitely want to rent again. Hawarth really is so picturesque.

You can leave your car and head out as the surrounding countryside is so lovely. We were extremely lucky with the weather, as the week we stayed was warm and sunny. We brought our little dog with us, who is elderly so it was best to carry him up and down the stairs as they are stone and proved a bit of a challenge for him. The town is a gem and we were able to visit local pubs and enjoyed a lovely meal in Haworth Old Hall, albeit outside dining. Thankfully it was warm and the sun was out. We walked to Hebden Bridge and that was a smashing day out too. There are so many great areas to enjoy, Holden Park in Oakworth is well worth a trek out and the local steam railway stations are just lovely.

The cottage is beautiful, on arrival it was spotless, had everything we needed. It is in an extremely good location near to shops, restaurants and lots of walks on the doorstep. We have already booked to return next year.

  • "Haworth is a lovely place to be and Bay Cottage is a pleasant place to stay."

Situated a short walk from Bronte central, shops, pubs and beautiful countryside, it suited our needs perfectly. The cottage had a good atmosphere and we felt comfortable being there and would definitely visit again if Covid doesn’t stop the world from turning. We visited in October with tourism obviously affected by Covid, so it was not busy, which made it nice for us, but we felt for the local businesses. So, to sum up, the cottage had everything we needed and we had a very happy week in Haworth.

It has been our second year here. The cottage is very clean, warm and cosy. We urge you to light a fire in the working stove which is magnificent. Bay Cottage is in a perfect location for Main Street, pubs, Brontë parsonage and the fabulous walks over the moors. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to return next year!

  • "Excellent holiday cottage, a really nice size for two people and we loved the kitchen downstairs with the curved ceiling and glass floor section over the well."

The property had the heating on for a good amount of time so was never cold and parking was easy. Really great location for pubs, shops and local walks - yet never noisey! We also spent a good few days in the Yorkshire Dale's walking which is about 30 mins easy drive away as well. Will 100% return

Centrally located for shops, restaurants and pubs. Brilliant location to visit the Brontë waterfalls. Beautiful part of the country. The cottage has lots of character. Lovely courtyard garden to dine outside. Loved the little cuby too! Beautiful attention to interior design a delight to stay in!

  • "Dogs are permitted in this cottage, which I have no problem with, however there is a policy in the visitors book about not letting dogs on the furniture, nonetheless the sofa had a really strong wet dog odour which brought on my asthma if I sat on it too long, also the bedroom carpet had the same strong odour which made staying in the cottage too long unpleasant."

Also parking was a nightmare at times even though you are given a permit, you do struggle to park in the area. On arrival too there were several light bulbs out which credit where it's due was rectified once we made contact with the number left for us, but cobwebs on bedroom light fittings, walls and the wooden being beams should have been addressed. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend and book again, but more attention to detail on cleaning and not just hoovering and mopping the floor as each visitor leaves would be beneficial and addressing minor maintenance issues too as it looked like the light bulbs throughout needed replacing for some time as there were at least 5 not working, especially in the kitchen as it then made it dark and a hazard when negotiating the steep stone steps leading to the area. Other than that spot on

The wood burning stove was a very nice touch. We were at the top of the town near to the Brontes Parsonage museum. Ideal location for walking on the moors and we enjoyed the Brontes trail, especially as on the second attempt the sun came out. First attempt was very wet! The steam railway was just down the road, and they had a gala day when we were there, the museum had carriages which had been used in lots of films and tv productions. You were able to walk inside them. Very relaxing week and we have already recommended this Cottage to our family and friends.

Cottage was nice and clean and in good order Make sure you buy plenty of fuel for the fires, as without it we felt quite cold ,as the heating was on a timer and you were not to mess with it. Tea ,coffee and milk on arrival and a nice fruit cake. No sugar so don't forget it. No problems with the stairs for us, but anyone unsteady on their feet would be in trouble. The cottage is very quirky in design. The stairs take a day or so to get used to. The decor is fabulous. The cottage is very warm and cosy. Very comforting when you are cold and wet after completing the various local walks in the area. The cottage is in a perfect position in Haworth, very close to Main Street and the Brontë/Victorian/Worth Valley railway attractions. Comfortable and very clean! Main drawback are the stairs! Two flights of stone stairs which aren’t easy to negotiate especially when carrying a cup of tea up to the lounge, but we did become used to them and as it is a very old cottage it was to be expected! This cottage has everything you need for a stay in Haworth and is really well situated with a car parking space! Only thing I missed was drying facilities, a small tumble dryer would be good in the outbuilding downstairs! TV was excellent and allowed catch up, being able to watch in the evening after a day out! Good bathroom with shower and comfortable bed! We really enjoyed our stay at Bay cottage and unless you have mobility problems would recommend it!

  • "What a terrific find this cottage is, it's located at the top of Haworth less than 5 mins from the Parsonage, 2 Mins from Pub, Bar and Fish and Chip shop (check opening times) close by are also gift shops but they are certainly of the quality items rather than cheap 'Bronte' branded merchandise you may expect, a large Car Park is close by (although parking permit is included)."

The Cottage itself is very open plan being essentially four rooms Stairs are steep but should be no trouble if you are 'mobile'. Without the efficient Help of Sykes our original plans would have fallen through (double booked by another properties owner) but this cottage is better closer more centrally placed and at a similar price point.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
