Located at the top of Main Street in Haworth and within walking distance from all the local eating and drinking places. The owner of the cottage has excellent customer service skills and the communication between us and them, was exceptional. The cottage comes with a handy car park permit, for the car park located at the end of the road - within walking distance. The decor is to a very high standard and the owner takes pride in his property. The bathroom, in particular looks very new and modern. Everything you need is catered for and the extra little touches are things like spare batteries / refuse sacks / washing up liquid / full and detailed instructions for everything in the cottage. The owner also sends over very detailed information, for both the cottage and everything local ( pubs and restaurants etc). The best feature was the bed, which was huge and very comfortable. If you are looking for somewhere to stay and like your creature comforts, this is the place for you.

Free parking was a bonus. Lovely walks and places to eat. Try pave and the steam brewing company among many others. Bathroom tap needs to be put on properly as it goes the wrong way. Lovely window seat in the bedroom perfect for watching the night sky. Nice biscuits and cake left for us as well as tea coffee and milk. I would have preferred a washing machine instead of a dishwasher. Great place.

To be so near one of the prettiest streets we’ve ever seen and yet still have quietness etc was amazing! So many lovely places to visit within short distances too. Yorkshire people are very friendly and welcoming too. Thoroughly recommend this property and this area! Thank you.

Yes it feels.compace downstairs but its fine as there are so many opportunites to eat out. The upstairs is fab and the cottage ia sp ideally located - we only usually stay in places with parking but the car park is so close and no problems getting a space. The owner was excellent with communications even letting us know that we could leave a liytle later if we needed to. My only slight complaint is that as we are beer drinkers a couple of pint pots would have been great. Hawthorn is a must for Sunday dinner (best i have ever had), the Cloth Store for Tacos was excellent and the Fleece for a cheese and onion pie or a ploughmans. The Steam Brewery a must for a beer and also great food. Haworth is a treat and Owl Cottage perfectly located for it all whilst being quiet x Thank you for a lovely stay.

The area was very peaceful and quiet so you could relax once back at the cottage. We did the Bronte waterfall walk which we thoroughly enjoyed, had a picnic in the sun and then walked back. Had a meal at the Haworth Steam Brewery which was lovely as was their gin that we sampled. Staff were very friendly. Visited the Steam railway but didn't manage to take a ride this time. Only downside, not with the cottage, but with Sykes, the letting agency, I tried to book on Late rooms but because it was short notice I had to phone Sykes. • "This was our fourth or fifth booking via Sykes and we weren’t disappointed."

A special mention to Andrew the owner who sent the key details, parking etc as well as useful information before we arrived and also checked we had received it. The cottage is located up from Central car park (permit supplied) which is a short walk up Changegate. Its about 50 yrds walk. Changegate is quite narrow so whilst you could drive up and unload quickly you might get beeped at and it is a double yellow line. The road then turns into cobbles to test your suspension! Location wise, Owl Cottage is ideally located for restaurants and café’s etc and the Bronte Parsonage. The Fleece Inn, Old Registry and Hawthorn are all lovely (differing styles and expense). However it is a walk back up! A lot of the shops and restaurants are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday so advance booking is recommended, especially for the Fleece on Monday/Tuesday. The Hawthorn is excellent. The cottage is directly opposite the Old White Lion Hotel which is a pub too but it didn’t disturb us at all. The SPAR and Co-op are useful and well stocked however I wouldn’t describe them as walking distance unless you aren’t buying much and fitter than I. We drove past them on our day trips including to Keighley for petrol. The house itself is lovely and tidy/clean – there were a couple of minor issues with the cleanliness of the bins- but apart from that the cottage is almost new. The bathroom has a good sized walk in shower with waterfall and traditional shower heads. The mirror has shaving socket, demister and lighting though we did find the tap directions slightly confusing. The bedroom is huge with ample storage, plugs, television and a window seat along one window. Bed was so huge and comfortable with lovely linen. The cottage was warm and the Hive thermostat worked well and the windows provided ideal ventilation. The downstairs has a double sofa and a slightly dated chair with foot stall which suited us as the boss had the couch and I took the chair. It was compact and had we used the leaf table (lap trays provided) I am not sure how one of us would have left the table if it still had items on it. The lounge had a decent size tv and DVD player with some books and DVD’s in the unit however somewhat outrageously The Railway Children was not on offer! The kitchen is small partly due to a floor hatch which restricts workspace but it is well equipped with a fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. Utensil wise there is a whisk, potato masher, cheese grater, weighing scales (albeit battery flat) etc as well as baking trays to name a few. The frying pan wasn’t particularly large so if you have plans for particular dishes then you might want to take your own. Oven gloves were missing which may be due to covid or an oversight. The workspace is quite cramped but workable as is the fridge. We brought a produce box which I took from a supermarket which had jars of spices, tins of pulses and other items and there wasn’t space to store this unless we had rearranged the whole kitchen! Overall, we really enjoyed the cottage and would definitely consider rebooking.

It’s light & airy with lovely views towards the hills. It has been modernised to a high standard and boasts an excellent degree of cleanliness & warmth throughout. The kitchen is well equipped & includes a great Neff oven. The Sitting / dining area is cosy & comfortable. A tiny gripe, is the creaky, swivel armchair! The bedroom is stunning! It includes a very comfortable bed with cotton bedding. I enjoyed sitting on the delightful window seat. An excellent shower is in the clean, modern bathroom. Definitely a cottage to revisit.

We walked from the cottage everyday and only used the car once which was to visit the coal mining museum near Wakefield. It was only £5 and definitely worth the drive. The property

Owl Cottage is a superb stone-built, terraced property set at the heart of the pretty village of Haworth, home to the famous Bronte sisters.

Boasting an enviable location, just a stone’s throw away from the famous cobbled Main Street and the many attractions of this lovely village, this is an exceptional find for a couple seeking a romantic break away to this part of Yorkshire.

Set over two floors, this delightful cottage has been renovated to a high standard with the contemporary styling complementing the original features of the property, boasting everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday.

After a wonderful day of exploring, relax into your evening within the open-plan living room, where the original, exposed beams frame the inviting sitting area and you can look forward to catching up on TV, with the characterful woodburner-effect fire setting a tranquil ambiance.

Joining the space is a compact, yet well-equipped kitchen, where you and your partner will be delighted to rustle up some tasty meals by making use of the quality appliances, before settling down at the dining table to tuck in, with a bottle of fizz that has been kept chilled in the sleek wine chiller.

Upstairs the super-king-size double bedroom enjoys an elevated position, from which superb views over the surrounding countryside can be seen, so you are promised breath-taking views as you wake up each morning.

Next to the bedroom and completing the accommodation is a stylish shower room with walk-in shower unit.

If you fancy a special treat one evening, take a short stroll into the village centre, where you will find a cluster of traditional pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as a superb range of shops for picking up sweet treats, gifts and essentials.

Brush up on the village’s history by visiting the Brontë Parsonage Museum or putting on your walking boots to follow the trails of Heathcliffe and Catherine along the famous Top Withens, which is said to have inspired Emma Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, among other fantastic walks upon the surrounding moorland.

Nearby is the market town of Skipton, which has won awards for its cobbled high street, and has independent shops and eateries, as well as a castle dating back to 1090.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
