  • "Springhead cottage is the perfect getaway, home from home."

I cannot fault the cottage in any way, in fact it is my favourite of the many cottages I’ve stayed in! The welcome from the owners and the generous gift pack are the icing on the cake. This was my 3rd visit and I did hope to return early March 2024 but already booked up but I will be back later in the year.

Everything was thought of for our stay even a birthday card for our grandson. The cottage was spotless communications with the owner excellent. Th games room is a great place to unwind in the evening or just sit and watch a movie. Everything has been thought about. On arrival the biggest hamper I have ever seen with milk and fresh orange in the fridge. Also basket of treats for our dogs. Can't recommend enough. Thank you so much .

There is a lot of attention to detail to ensure a great stay. We loved the garden and the wildlife which came to the little river to the side of the garden. The games room is excellent and the local area has loads to do - we didn't need to use the car every day as we could walk into Haworth which had plenty of cafes and pubs and the Bronte museum. Haworth moor is beautiful and we enjoyed several walks there. There was a generous welcome hamper in the cottage and milk deliveries through the week which were much appreciated. Would highly recommend this cottage.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Springhead Cottage."

The property is very clean, well maintained, very comfortable and welcoming. We felt very at home here, enjoying time in the house and the games room. We have stayed in lots of holiday accommodation over the last ten years, but this is one of only two that we have returned to, and would do so again. It is rare to find a property that feels this comfortable and special for time away with our family and our dog! The house includes everything that we needed and more, which is what makes it such a great place to stay at. Haworth is beautiful and the surrounding area has so much to offer. Fascinating history, shopping, dining, places to explore etc. We loved it!

There’s lots of places to visit within the outstanding countryside and plenty of places to eat and drink. There’s a Co-Op and a Spar supermarket in nearby Howarth. We’ve really enjoyed our stay, and Debbie, the owner was always on hand to answer any questions we had. The games room and bar is an added bonus, and the garden is visited by birds galore!

The photos do not do this property justice. It’s very homely and has the best stocked kitchen I’ve seen in a long time in regards to cooking appliances and utensils. The owners kindly sorted a cot and stair gate for our son which was massively helpful and the toy box and the ducks in the bath he really enjoyed. The hamper on arrival was lovely as well with the regular fresh milk deliveries. Plenty of parking and really lovely location.

. We actually ended up putting in the postcode, which Debbie, the owner, told us that we would arrive at the back of the cottage, which we did, we then had to drive down a very narrow dirt track to arrive at the front!! Springhead Rd is sign posted across a wall, where cars are parked across it, hence it isn't visible..... But we got there in the end, and had a wonderful time...

We stayed with our sons, their partners and our 2 cocker spaniels. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt completely 'at home'. The cottage is large, modern, bright and spacious but also manages to retain a fabulous cosy cottage feel. Immaculately clean and wonderfully comfortable. It's exceptionally well equipped and there was nothing we needed that wasn't supplied - the cottage is clearly loved and well maintained by the owners. The lovely welcome basket on arrival was also a very thoughtful touch. The games room is a massive bonus and when you walk in, really has the wow factor! We spent several happy evenings playing pool and listening to music. It really is fabulous. The garden is beautiful - well planned and lots of comfortable seating - and even on cooler days/evenings, I was happy to sit with a blanket and enjoy the quiet, meditative surroundings. Was even lucky enough to spot a kingfisher! We have stayed in a number of holiday lets via Sykes over the last decade and this cottage has to be one of our most enjoyable stay yet. Was so sad to leave and will definitely be booking again soon!

  • "We would not hesitate to recommend a holiday in this gorgeous cottage."

It is presented as a real home from home, very clean and comfortable with everything that guests will need during their stay. We loved all of the rooms, all comfortable to spend time in, with plenty of space for our family to enjoy. The garden and games room are a real bonus, and we used both when it wasn't too hot. The honesty bar in the games room is a fantastic idea. Haworth itself is a steep uphill walk, one which we decided to drive due to the heat and a small lazy dog! But parking was never difficult and very cheap. Haworth is beautiful, a place we will return to I hope. We also enjoyed Bolton Abbey, Skipton and Hebden Bridge. We wanted to get out and about to explore the area, but it would have been very tempting to stay at the cottage the whole time, as it was such a lovely place to relax and cool down. I would imagine it would be very cozy during the colder months too. Thank you to the hosts who communicated on our arrival day, and checked everything was ok, and later to thank us for our stay. The welcome basket was a very kind gesture and we could tell that a lot of thought and preparation had gone into this holiday cottage. We hope to return in the future!

! The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable and equipped with everything you might possibly need. Debbie and Tony left a very generous welcome pack and their communication (by text or phone) was friendly yet unobtrusive throughout our stay. The games room with its bar, TV and pool table is an added bonus. The walk into Haworth is a 10 minute pretty steep uphill stretch. Once in the village there are numerous independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs to choose from. Our favourite was the Hawthorn - delicious food but advisable to book in advance. All in all we had a great family holiday and the peaceful riverside location makes this a very special place.

  • "A beautifully appointed cottage, with ample space for up to 6 people, with great neighbours, and views over the stream to the fields opposite from the garden or the balcony in the master bedroom."

The welcome basket from the owners was very much appreciated on arrival, with milk & orange juice delivered through the week. The cottage is located in a peaceful location at the top of a quiet lane, with an enclosed garden, and the stream running alongside the property. Our son loved the games room in the converted garage, and we enjoyed watching the wildlife on the river (ducks, wagtails, dippers and the occasional kingfisher) and in the field opposite, with the occasional deer venturing through, and the resident cows coming down to drink from the stream twice a day. The location of the cottage is excellent, with the pretty village of Haworth a short walk up the hill, which boasts a wide variety of largely dog-friendly independent shops, great cafés & bars. The steam railway provides easy access to Keighley & Oxenhope at either end of the line, with lots of great walks to be had in and around the surrounding area. A very relaxing two weeks was spent here, and thoroughly enjoyed. We hope to return.

Only two issues - 1) The twin room is more suited to children rather than adults in their 50s/60s - I would suggest some reference is made to this fact. 2) Walk to the village (Main Street) is only two minutes? - for someone in the 50s/60s it was closer to 12/15 minutes given the elevation difference. The garden and in particular the bedroom balcony, is a wonderful space to sit and relax and enjoy listening to the sounds of the river and watching the wildlife, was wonderful to see the daily visit from the woodpecker and heron. The welcome hamper provided was a lovely gesture, as was the arranged delivery of milk and orange juice from the milkman for us to use throughout our stay. Many other thoughtful extras were provided in the cottage from dvds, books, selection of puzzles and games, with the icing on the cake being the games room with the pool table, which provided all the family with much competitive entertainment at the end of our day. The surrounding area itself is very picturesque with many walks right from the doorstep, we only used the car twice, once to stock up on groceries from a supermarket (only a 15 minute drive away) and to walk one of the Three Peaks. . A true gem of a cottage in a beautiful area with the quaint Haworth only a short, albeit steep, hill walk away. A place where one can truly relax and unwind, or venture out to explore the stunning landscapes. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer, we would not hesitate in returning or recommending to others. Delightful. The 'Graham' Family

The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure their cottage is enjoyed by their guests. Their thoughtful touches - the delicious welcome basket and toys/bike left out for our young daughter - were very gratefully received. My husband was beyond happy with the games room/bar and the outside garden area by the river was a dream. The bedroom balcony with an arm chair overlooking the river was also a nice touch and a lovely spot to relax in. I initially chose the cottage because of its location - great walks on the doorstep and a quick walk into the wonderful Haworth village - which was ideal for getting around without needing to drive. The cottage is in an ideal setting. I very much enjoyed having a cup of tea outside in the morning next to the river. The house was full of everything we could need for our stay and the welcome pack was lovely. I would suggest that they might want to keep a basic larder of oil, salt and pepper in the cottage. The rooms were all lovely, big and cosy. The beds were comfortable, although I would recommend changing the bed sheets which felt a bit like plastic. We had a lot of fun playing pool and darts, and the garage was a lovely place to spend time, the stocked bar was great, again I would recommend having a locked honesty box in the garage for guests to add some money towards upkeep of the booze. We weren't sure where to leave it. It may also be worth protecting the wall under the dart board from stray darts. The surrounding area was great, the hills were a bit of a shock to the system but by the end of the week we had thighs of steel. The walk to Haworth is 15mins and the main Street is full of lovely shops and places to eat. There are some wonderful walks direct from the cottage and even a little waterfall nearby.

The property

Springhead Cottage is a lovely 19th century property, overlooking the River Worth on the outskirts of Haworth.

The well-kept cottage can sleep up to six guests, making it a wonderful setting for your next group getaway to West Yorkshire, within easy reach of Skipton and Hebden Bridge.

You are greeted to the property by a driveway which leads to the front garden, where there is lawn with gorgeous plantings, while to the side of the house you'll find a patio with furniture to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining whilst looking out on to the picturesque river and forest views.

Stepping into the property there is a kitchen/diner, where you can prepare a picnic for your day out or gather round the table to toast to a wonderful holiday, or move into the sitting room where a woodburning stove warms up the room as you enjoy an evening in front of the TV with your loved ones.

For more evening entertainment, make your way into the garage, which has been converted into a games room with a pool table, darts board, an at-home bar with mini fridge, a speaker and a TV, sure to keep you entertained for hours.

When sleep is calling, make your way upstairs to discover three bedrooms, including a marvellous double benefitting from an en-suite shower room and a set of double doors that lead onto a balcony with furniture, where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst admiring the river views.

You will also find a second double bedroom and a twin, which allows for flexible sleeping arrangements when the evening draws to a close, both of which share use of the family bathroom, where you can prepare for the day a head.

A short walk takes you to the village of Haworth, its cobbled streets home to a variety of boutique shops, tea rooms, country pubs and restaurants, as well as gin and real ale bars.

Once home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, it is a village that time almost forgot, with its alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside and boasting the Bronte Memorial and the Bronte Parsonage Museum, as well as the Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway which provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope.

Also nearby, you will find the village of Oakworth with more shops, bars and restaurants, and the historic mill town of Keighley with its museums and elegant 17th century East Riddlesden Hall.

Travel a little further afar for an action packed day out in Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, with its beautiful castles and picturesque walking routes through the National Park, or the bustling city of Leeds which is thriving with bars.

For a memorable trip to the West Yorkshire countryside, choose Springhead Cottage.
