  • "Beautiful property."

  • "Ideally situated at top of Haworth village."

Plenty of space for 10 people over 3 floors - all rooms with bathrooms which is an extra bonus. Rooms themed with bold colours of curtains / walls - but artistically. Oldish house but with character. Kitchens (2) had everything we needed. Great for meeting up with various friends and enjoyed walks and outings in the vicinity. Plenty to see and do in the area - lots of hills though!

Never used the car as great walks from the door . Such comfortable beds so brilliant sleep every night . Thank you for the memories . Would love to return

  • "Overall we were very pleased with the property."

Excellent location, beautiful house. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. A really good welcome pack. There were just a few issues mainly regarding the showers/bathrooms. One shower stopped working after a few minutes, another ran at a trickle and the water took 5 minutes to warm up, another shower not very powerful. Also, shower trays would have been useful. The basement bathroom had 2 notices advising to use the extractor fan, but I couldn't find a switch. We could only get the small oven to work. The keysafe was open when we arrived, with the access number already showing, the house alarm wasn't switched on. One more little niggle was having to strip the beds prior to departure, especially as we had to be out of the property by 10 o'clock. But overall a very pleasant stay.

Amazing welcome pack on arrival and great communication with the owners who very kindly let us check in early. We loved the comfortable and spacious conservatory with amazing views over the countryside. The house is well equipped and lovely and warm. A very enjoyable stay.

Fabulous welcome basket! View from the conservatory/lounge is stunning. Spotlessly clean throughout and warm. Every bedroom had its own bathroom and all were comfortable and most attractive. We received a message to say the house was ready for us a good hour earlier than expected and Rachel was very helpful regarding a left behind bag. Beautiful village and surrounding countryside. Highly recommend.

Decor was to hotel standard and the house was very clean throughout. Bedrooms were spacious and all ensuite. Kitchen was very well stocked. The downstairs suite was entirely self contained and - bar a couple of minor things I've highlighted to the owner - really lovely and peaceful. A great base for Ilkley, Leeds, Bolton abbey, Skipton, Saltaire and Hebden Bridge. We thoroughly recommend

Thyme House is just as described but what is difficult to put into words is the view from the conservatory / lounge - amazing. Clean, well equipped and full of charm we would book again. Plenty to do in the surrounding area including the Heritage Railway (a must) and if you don't want to venture far the pubs and tearooms in Haworth are fab!

  • "We loved our stay in The Thyme house."

The situation was perfect with just a short walk into the beautiful village of Haworth and lovely surrounding area. We found plenty of walks and places to visit and enjoyed returning to our cosy holiday home. The house is spacious and the bedrooms suited our families especially with the luxury of 5 en-suites. Plenty of crockery and cutlery for 9 and large ovenware for meals. Eating out in Haworth was easy as I have never seen so many pubs/inns in such a short distance! Just one small thing! It was very difficult explaining to our grandchildren that they were not allowed on the trampoline and lovely garden equipment that were so visible from the windows. However they did enjoy watching the sheep every day.

Sadly the play equipment is in next door's garden! We would love to be able to provide more outdoor activities for children but we don't have the space. We do make it clear on the booking form that house isn't suitable for children under 12 years. Property Owner

I would add 2 very minor comments: - The conservatory/lounge does get very warm on sunny days. We would have liked to open the door for fresh air but there was nothing to secure the door with to stop it blowing open and out of our reach. - Now that the conservatory is now the lounge, it would benefit from a wifi extender.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
