  • "We had a fabulous time in Cunliffe House this weekend."

The property is beautiful, private and peaceful and the location is stunning. The games room was amazing and a great feature for a family getaway. The only feedback I could offer is a lock on downstairs bathroom, a fridge in the games room bar and possibly blackout blinds for the bedrooms (but only because I'm used to a darker bedroom). A beautiful house (the photos online don't do it justice!) and somewhere I would absolutely visit again.

  • "Everything was great, Just 2 x complaints."

1, Beds were very hard, not comfortable 2, The lane upto the house had brambles that were long enough to scratch the cars down the sides.

  • "Perfect situation in a quiet picturesque spot."

Living room chair a little uncomfortable due to seat foam being well used. Not major but would benefit from a replacement interior foam. Everything else was super.

  • "Cuncliffe House was AMAZING."

A great location for a family get together. Nicely positioned within walking distance of the Woolpack. The layout was fantastic and the touches of the table settings and welcome basket really made the weekend special. Already planning a return visit

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our mini break in this gorgeous home."

Photos don’t do it justice, it’s so lovely. It is very well stocked and there were 5 of us and plenty to do in the area. The younger ones took the train to Leeds ( 15 min journey from Guiseley, which is just a few mins away). Esholt is very pretty and we even managed a drink at The Woolpack. However, that could do with a bit of tlc from the landlords! Great photos inside of times past in Emmerdale though, which we loved. Will definitely return to Cunliffe House and the truly lovely Helen, who was so welcoming. Truly wanted to stay longer. 5 Stars all round. Well done!

The cottage and views were beautiful and it was so quiet. Would be happy to return and recommend to family and friends but some of the matress’s may need to be replaced.

A few very minor problems sorted straight away. Lovely furnishings and nice garden. Well equipped and plenty to do in the area.

  • "It was a perfect place for a perfect holiday for the 8 of us."

The welcome pack and dressing gowns were a lovely touch. The only thing we could say was the mattress in the master bedroom probably needs replacing as it felt like it went up in the middle and made it feel like you were rolling out of it so not very comfortable. We also had a barbecue about 7pm but the lighting in that area wasn’t good so had to use torches. A fridge in the bar/games room would possibly be a benefit

  • "Had such an amazing time we all had at Cunliffe House, the cottage was absolutely stunning as was the surroundings."

The perfect getaway for my family and I after a very testing year. The only negative we can mention is that the beds were so uncomfortable. Mattresses are well overdue replacing.

The house was amazing, beautifully presented, five star accommodation. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The location is stunning. The Woolpack pub is worth a visit and you will receive a warm welcome.

  • "We had a lovely time at Cunliffe House, the property has great facilities for a family to relax and occupy themselves even when the British weather doesn't co-operate."

A couple of the King Size bed mattresses were very firm and proved difficult to get a relaxed nights sleep on.

  • "What an amazing time away we had at Cunliffe House."

The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the views are great. This place is situated in the perfect location for walks etc. As we went to Thruscross Reservoir for a beautiful walk. The games room was a great bonus and obviously the hot tub. Overall a fantastic property in a brilliant location, we would definitely return!

  • "Had a lovely week at Cunliffe House, views are lovely, very peaceful."

Really nice hamper left on arrival lovely touch. We was disappointed that the local pub was not open probably due to COVID, be prepared to drive if you need essentials as no shops/bakers/butchers etc, the nearest really would be Guiseley. Overall we would recommend the property is a nice sized rental and the games room is a nice added extra although we did have to buy chalk and new cue tips as nothing for the pool table, And cues had no tips, could do to be looked at.

  • "The cottage was fantastic, very clean, excellent facilities, the games room was brilliant."

The only things I would say slightly need to be looked at are the directions as you get to the house, they say to go down the drive however the drive is in fact up a hill to garages. There were only a few black bin bags which we filled right to the top, only a couple of dishwasher tabs even though we were there for 4 days and no washing up cloths, we could only find a sponge. As we arrived the WiFi wasn’t working, we contacted Helen to report it and she didn’t have any account details or a number of the phone line, I rang BT and managed to get a ticket logged and it was still unavailable as we left. This wasn’t the end of the world for us as we could rather off our mobiles. The final thing was we couldn’t find any handbook for the cottage, I suppose everything was easy enough to work out but it would have been helpful. All in all it’s a fantastic place, very new decor and a place we will independently return to I’m sure.

  • "We arrived in the dark to find the information sent for locating Cunliffe House was in fact details for Cunliffe Barn?"

There were no names identifying either of these properties! Having said that Cunliffe House was an immaculate property very clean for our party of 6 adults and a 2 year old - we all had plenty of room in the well decorated bedrooms - the hamper was a very welcome addition. We all had a wonderful weekend

  • "Arrival details referred to the adjacent property and not the property booked?"

A bit disconcerting for us because of uncertainty of access code for key-safe. Web chat person was very hostile to my request for confirmation of key code!!!! Not nice!

About the location

Bradford 6 miles; Leeds 12 miles

Esholt is a quaint little village resting peacefully between Shipley and Guiseley, in the metropolitan district of the City of Bradford. Interestingly, the village was once used to film scenes for the soap opera 'Emmerdale' from 1976 to 1997, until they moved to a purpose built replica of Esholt, on the Harewood Estate; pleasant walks amble through the village, where you can stop off for a refreshing drink at the local pub on the way; The Woolpack, once used for filming, is situated in the heart of Esholt, serving delicious drinks, food and a friendly atmosphere. Close by is the West Yorkshire town of Shipley, situated near Bradford, with the River Aire running through. Saltaire, a village located in Shipley is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site and it is famous for the Victorian era Salts Mill, which can be found close to the River Aire. The thriving city of Leeds is further afield with many shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as many attractions worth a visit including Harewood House, Roundhay Park and Kirkstall Abbey, while the North Yorkshire Dales are 16 miles to the north, a vast area of beauty encompassing thousands of square miles of far-reaching moors, rolling valleys and charm-filled villages.
