“The whole experience at the cottage was excellent, the cottage is ideally situated in that it is close enough to town - Harrogate - to taxi in and out but far enough away to relax after a day's walking or biking at any one of the number of choice locations, with a nice drink and stare up at the stars whilst the aches simply drained away in the hot tub.”

The bedroom was luxury itself and the area has some great butchers' which gave us the opportunity to cook up a storm using the excellent kitchen facilities. All it needed was a nice roaring fire .... oh yes it had one of those too with a lovely wood burner!!! The whole experience was top drawer and our hosts were there when we needed them and unobtrusive otherwise. Could not fault it, many thanks to David and Hannah, just what we needed with the year we have had.

The attractive spa town of Harrogate is famous for its acres of immaculate gardens, open spaces, elegant architecture and broad tree-lined boulevards. Once one of the most fashionable spas in Europe, the town continues to draw visitors from far and wide to its excellent shopping and restaurants and renowned conference centre. The countryside around Harrogate is outstandingly beautiful with Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Dales to the west and the North York Moors to the east. Close by there are many major attractions including Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (National Trust) and the historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens. However many visitors will be more than happy to enjoy a day in the town itself - walking in the Valley Gardens followed by afternoon tea at Bettys, the town's world-famous tea rooms.
