  • "This was the second time we have visited this lovely property."

The first time our car died but we had a relaxing time and felt a bit like locals relying on the local transportation. Our second visit was equally as good. The cottage is well equipped and on arrival we were once again met with much appreciated supplies...bread, milk, orange juice and fresh eggs from the roaming, friendly chickens! The chocolate on each bed was a nice touch. The owners obviously want you to enjoy your stay and are not at all intrusive. They even posted our daughter's blouse that she left there. With a new car we were able to visit the places we missed last time such as, Harrogate, Ilkley moor and Settle. Yorkshire has wonderful countryside! Once again a lovely time was had, in a lovely location and wonderful accommodation

  • "The property was perfect for us as a holiday cottage to come back to after a day out."

Comfortable, functional, clean and had everything we needed. The surroundings were tranquil with trees, greenery, babbling brook, chickens rooting around and a cat to keep us entertained (not belonging to the property, I hasten to add) We liked the fact that it was near the essentials eg Co-Op but was off-road down a private lane. We would come here again if we had the chance

  • "Being somewhat elderly I found the stairs quite steep especially in the night when having to use the bathroom which is on the ground floor."

Due to the amount of rain the lane approaching the cottage became flooded and remained muddy. It is also very uneven and extreme care is needed when driving along it. Apart from that the cottage is lovely well equipped clean and in a really peaceful setting next to the brook and the hens wandering around.

Hosts helpful, chatty but not intrusive and provided a lovely welcoming pack including fresh eggs from their hens. No complaints n would recommend Bull Hill. Weather was a bit grim but we did manage a couple of walks in this lovely part of Yorkshire.

Impeccably presented throughout. Everything about the cottage was easy. Loved watching the chickens whilst sitting on the peaceful patio area. Ideally situated to enjoy walks from the door into the countryside. A couple of nice pubs in the village or the lovely village of Haworth with it's shops and pubs is an easy walk/drive/steam train ride away.

  • "Overall the property was good: the split level kitchen/diner and steps up to comfortable lounge was very pleasant; the bedrooms although small were adequate."

It was enjoyable to watch the local hens from the window every day. The owner was very helpful in helping to operate the oven and heating programmer. The real downfall was the access which was a long, narrow and very bumpy which meant we were very reluctant to go out in the evening. The village was nice with good amenities and the start of the little steam railway, plus close proximity to Haworth.

  • "Bull Hill Cottage was the perfect getaway over the christmas period."

It was clean/comfortable/well kept and a great family space. The little touches of milk/bread/eggs on arrival and chocolates on the pillow were a really thoughtful touch and made the property more welcoming on arrival. After a really tough couple of months post losing my brother to suicide in september- this christmas was going to be a tough one all round. We were then let down by a previous property I booked so ended up booking bull hill cottage VERY last minute- simply to be in close proximity to family in yorkshire. I know its just a property but it really did save christmas for me- allowing me to cook my mum and brother xmas dinner in its beautiful kitchen diner area overlooking the chickens- and allowing a comfortable chilled out area to just relax for a few days. I wish the owners all the luck. I hope to stay again in the future. There were no negatives. Thankyou guys!

  • "Bull Cottage was a great place to stay."

As Yorkshire folk now living in Orkney, Bull Cottage was ideally placed for visiting family and old haunts. The interior was minimal and well done, the heating soon warmed the place up. The only tiny issue was the outside light has a really short activation period. This did create a slight issue when loading the car in the pitch black. I'll certainly use Bull Cottage again the next time I am down for a full week.

We liked the layout, little stream & the friendly roaming chickens. Helpful owners close by and very thoughtful welcome gift. Local pub is short uphill walk but only does food (pizza) on Thurs unfortunately. Great though. Only v minor improvement would be coat hooks in hall and a hall mat for shoes. Would stay again without hesitation.

  • "Lovely property in a super location."

Nothing could have added to the holiday with everything needed being supplied - some really nice touches with the little extras being really appreciated - things like the cot already being made up with mattress, milk, eggs, bread all being supplied on arrival. Grayson really enjoyed being able to feed the chickens. Heating warmed the property really quickly, shower nice and powerful - really nothing I would chose that would have made the holiday any better (maybe a little less rain but can't have everything :))

In a great location too, as loads to do and see without travelling too far, for example Oxenhope station, the co-op, Haworth, bronte waterfall, Bingley five rise locks, hardcastle crags, Bolton abbey, to name a few. The setting is so tranquil with a bubbling stream, bird song throughout the day, and no intrusive sounds (cars, etc) at all. The interior of the cottage is outstanding, with fabulous attention to detail. The hosts were so kind and attentive, yet not at all intrusive - James & Vikki just wanted us to be happy! The space inside the cottage feels roomy, and it was certainly helped by the large patio area. We enjoyed a couple of BBQs and the toddler loved the safe enclosed patio. The wee one also was thrilled to feed the chickens every day with little food waste. There is so much to do in the immediate area, including walks & bike rides from the cottage, the local steam train, and loads of attractions nearby. I definitely hope to return to the same property if it is available!
