  • "Absolutely perfect break!"

House was immaculately clean and in a beautiful setting. Michelle and Paul were ever helpful and charming. Weather was well-behaved. Our highlight was a trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway; we started (and finished) the trip at Skipton and can also recommend that town as an ideal place to visit.

  • "A cottage straight from the picture books."

Everything was well presented throughout with high standard interior and tasteful design. All of us felt at home straight away and made the most of our stay by exploring nearby. Would definitely visit again when visiting Yorkshire.

  • "A great Holiday cottage and wonderful and helpful hosts Michelle and Paul."

The property is spacious and was immaculate when we arrived. Two sitting rooms with lots of space and lovely furniture A lovely rocking chair to sit and soak in the lovely views of the outdoor seating and greens. The bedrooms have lovely views with windows in Bedrooms and bathrooms. Spacious bathrooms one on-suite and the other in close proximity to two other bedrooms. Enough storage in all rooms. Both Bathrooms tastefully done and brand new. The showers are great with good pressure unlike most of holiday cottages we have been. The kitchen very well equipped with lots of pots and pans and cutlery, glasses, cups and the best kitchen knives. The fridge is huge for storing with a fantastic washing machine all brand new. Thanks to Michelle for leaving us some goodies. Everything provided was of high standard with quality tea, coffee, Prosecco, milk and biscuits. No wonder they have earned the best Sykes award for giving us the quality and space for a great outdoors holiday. We couldn't use up the whole week due to work commitments but we had a great holiday. The Grouse INN is just a few minutes from the cottage and is value for money. Just a note of thanks to Michelle and Paul for the most comfortable and amazing stay in their cottage and we hope to visit again as we love Yorkshire.

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful week in Hill Top Cottage: property was so cosy but plenty of space for 6 of us, lovely to have the option of two rooms downstairs."

The whole place was spotless when we arrived, with a thoughtful welcome pack in the kitchen. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything we needed and more (only exception is there is no dishwasher but this wasn't an issue for us), beds are very comfortable and the views from the house are beautiful - such a nice area which we enjoyed exploring. Great communication from the owner of the cottage who lives next door and gave us some great local insights: thank you so much, we will definitely be back!

  • "Very comfortable, very clean, well equipped kitchen and cottage exactly as described in details."

The family, who are next door, are very pleasant, friendly and helpful, couldn't find nicer people. The area has beautiful scenery, wish I had been younger to do some hill walking - it is a very hilly area so need to be fit to go walking. It was great on the Steam Train which you can hop on 2 miles away, we stayed on it most of day! The staff are very kind and helpful. We found the best restaurants were the Grouse (BD22 0RX sat nav) they are a little pricey but excellent food and very pleasant staff. The Busfield arms (BD20 5SP) very reasonable and very good food. Can be a little slow on the service but worth it. We found Skipton great for a shop. Small town (CAR PARK BD23 1ED) but a great market Mom/Wed/Fri - The Holy Trinity Church, at end of high Street, offers a very nice reasonable lunch, but there are other cafe'.

  • "Simply fantastic."

The cottage was spotlessly clean and well presented when we arrived. Michelle the owner was lovely and so helpful with all our questions and requests. It was so easy to relax in the cottage and the immediate area. We walked around Oakworth, taking in the K&WV Railway, Ebor Mill and the surrounding hills. We cooked for ourselves several times but also enjoyed time in The Snooty Fox and The Golden Fleece. Days out to Skipton, York and Hawes are highly recommended. If you're still reading, we are already choosing dates when we can return; I think that's the best recommendation you can get! Thanks again to Michelle for a great stay. We'll see you soon!

The bathrooms were fabulous with powerful showers and the comfy beds and the peaceful setting allowed us all a good night’s sleep. Michelle met us on arrival and had provided milk, tea, coffee etc and even Prosecco in the fridge! She was happy to offer advice on places to go in the local area. As a family who enjoys walking, we bought maps in Haworth and were pleased to discover that there are lots of delightful walks around the cottage and therefore we didn’t need to drive every day. About the location

Haworth 1 mile; Skipton 10 miles.

Oakworth is a small Pennine village just two miles from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. Nearby Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were much-inspired by the surrounding moorland. Haworth has a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights. Nearby, the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
