  • "Great stay in a pretty location."

House came with everything we needed although would recommend bringing extra toilet roll tea towels and towels as you only get one of each. A bath mat and oven gloves would be nice if the owners could supply these?. The village is very picturesque and the hotel/pub handy although we didn’t get to eat there as it was fully booked up so plan ahead. The Spar which is 3 miles away is very well stocked.

  • "Property great potential however lacks the finishing touches."

Bed extremely uncomfortable, only one towel per person and no kitchen towel. Only one toilet roll, no oven gloves, one tea cloth, no egg cups, only two saucepans one large and one very small.

  • "Pretty cottage inside, better than external photo suggests, though gravelled walled garden was a bit dull it meant we relaxed when our Labrador was pottering outside."

High quality pans and crockery, sharp knife, catering for two pleasantly easy and we enjoyed a sofa each watching films on the large TV (with Netflix). Good pub around the corner and village green perfect for evening ball throwing session with the dog. Bed soft and comfortable; will recommend cottage to friends & would definitely stay here again, Burnsall a great base for walking. We needed to book pubs ahead for evening meals, Craven Arms at Appletreewick our favourite.

  • "Beautiful location, holiday cottage good but kitchen although beautiful was very small and not the easiest to produce a meal in."

Would recommend a short stay 3/4 days and eating out. Pictures gave an impression of a larger property and would of been disappointed if I had paid the full price. Overall good experience very accessible to sights in the area although prior booking necessary to access them.

  • "Pleasant detached cottage in the centre of a wonderful Yorkshire Dales village, 50m from a great pub and the lovely meandering river Wharfe."

House was perfectly adequate for our needs, and a great location.

About the location

Skipton 9 miles; Ilkley 12 miles.

Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer’s market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous “Strid Walk”. A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.
