    What more could you want for break in lovely Ripon? With all the shops and great choice of eateries within 5 minutes walk this place is a real find. Easy to get out and explore everything that North Yorkshire has to offer. Highly recommended!

  • "St.Wilfred's Loft proved to be an ideal base for our short break."

    The apartment was well presented, well equipped and most importantly was clean and comfortable. The bedding and towels were good quality and toiletries were provided. An added bonus was it's location being just a short walk from the shops, bus station and Cathedral. We wouldn't hesitate to recommended this accommodation unless you need to avoid stairs ( there are approximately 30 but it wasn't an issue for us)

  • "St Wilfred's loft was brilliant, in all ways, immaculately clean."

    Being (older) people we found the beautiful looking sofa not so comfortable, but that was due to our age and lack of flexibility!! In reality probably a property for slightly younger people, we, four of us range from 75-80years old. We all managed the two flights of stairs up to the property, bit puffed after carrying luggage up and down. Very well situated in Ripon, literally five minutes from some good shops restaurants etc.

  • "Superb apartment."

    The owners have thought of everything to make it home from home.The standard is extremely high at St Wilfrids Loft and our stay there was very comfortable In a great place so near to the city centre and having its own designated parking space meant we used the car very little Would recommend it without a doubt

    Great location in a quiet street minutes from the city centre. Spotlessly clean, bright and airy and the loft bedroom was just brilliant. We will definitely look to stay here again when visiting Ripon.

  • "Great location."

    Easy Parking ( especially considering the narrow streets round there) However, it doesn't get five stars because - the main settee is totally inappropriate for the flat. Much too 'deep' and impossible to get comfortable in. - there are a fair few minor maintenance snags, some in relation to the restrictors on the windows in the lounge. These need restoring to full efficiency straightaway as if someone pushes past up they are going to end up falling out and will sue. Finally the lack of any welcome pack whatsoever is just sloppy. It does what it says and makes guests feel welcome. Merely a packet of fig rolls is a coded message for ' we've got your rent - get on with it.'

    The whole apartment is spacious & comfortable. The owners have thought of EVERYTHING, anything you could need is there. Allocated parking space a real bonus. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

    The apartment was incredibly comfortable, excellently located and the car parking space well valued. Ripon had much to offer the whole family, meaning that we did not get as far afield as we had planned. That said, where we did get out the location proved to be an excellent base.

  • "St Wilfred's loft is perfectly placed so as to explore Ripon and the surrounding countryside."

    The property is uplifting to walk into being light and bright and airy, tastefully decorated and well appointed. The owners, Phil and Wendy really do care about giving their guests the best possible experience for their visit and they are just on the end of the phone to answer any questions, in a very helpful and friendly manner. Whilst in Ripon don't miss the blowing of the horn every evening at 9pm, in the market square, under the obelisk, by the Ripon Horn Blower, as it has been performed for over a thousand years, dating back to the time of King Alfred. And during the day the Wakeman Cafe, an ancient building in the corner of the market place, associated with the Wakemen, as the Horn Blowers used to be called, is a delicious experience. We enjoyed Ripon very much which was full of warm hearted northern hospitality, it was well worth the journey up from Surrey, and we would love to return.

  • "St Wilfred’s Loft is beautiful."

    Stylish, warm, quiet, comfortable and so very clean. It has everything you could need during your stay, and it’s in a great location, only minutes, for all the lovely shops, cathedral and eateries, didn’t use my car all week. If you book, you won’t be disappointed. Hosts made contact with me, and easy key access. Everything was just perfect. Thank you Wendy for sharing your lovely home from home, also, thanks to the cleaning staff (who often get forgotten when the praise is given out). They obviously take the greatest pride in their work as the apartment was spotless.

  • "Excellent accommodation, furnished to a high standard, everything u need is there and the second bedroom is extremely spacious."

    Brilliant for solo travellers, couples or ideal for two couples as both bedrooms are private and the second bedroom has an En-suite which is in addition to the full size bathroom with over shower.I The parking space is a good plus and it's only five to ten minute walk into Ripon where you can even catch the bus into Harrogate that runs every 30 minutes. Definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area.

Dominated by its imposing cathedral, the historic city of Ripon has a great deal to offer visitors - the Cathedral with its 1300 year old crypt, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, various craft markets, an International Music Festival and Ripon Races; not to mention the many beautiful riverside and canal walks. Even the famous Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are within walking distance along the banks of the River Skell and it is just a few miles to the popular Lightwater Valley Theme Park. The historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens are also close by. If you do feel the need to get in the car and explore, Ripon is ideal for touring both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, not to mention Harrogate, Knaresborough and York too!
