  • "Dissapointed with the cleanliness of the cottage, we only found the undercounter fridge on the day of leaving and it was clear it had not been cleaned in a long time."

There was milk in the bottom compartment with mould on top, also leftover beer from the previous stay (many emails sent making it clear to take belongings with you). When we first arrived it was extremely cold, we had a 6 month old baby and a 3 year old with us. Would have been nice for the cottage owner to turn heating on low an hour or so before our arrival to make the cottage more welcoming, as it took hours to warm up. There was mould in most window corners. It smelt of damp and generally foisty, the Reed diffusers that were around the cottage were again mouldy as I assume had been on display that long, and weren’t actually giving off a smell. No sufficient supply to keep fire going throughout our stay.

  • "Lovely cottage in beautiful setting, equipped with everything you need for a "home from home" holiday."

The cottage was very spacious and comfortable. The pub across the road serves great food and the locals are friendly and helpful. There are shops/supermarkets in nearby Pateley Bridge, just a short drive away. It was nice to meet our host who popped over to make sure everything was ok. Would love to come back in better weather to explore further and would definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely peaceful location with superb views opposite local pub and hotel."

Manoevring our car into the allocated parking space next to the cottage was always a challenge! The unsolved challenge was how do you get the lid off the kettle!

  • "Sandholme was a lovely cottage, Middlesmoor the perfect location for us to step away from the madness and drink in our surroundings breath fresh air and let the 2year old and 6 year old Grand children run and play ."

The cottage was very spacious and homely. The owner was very pleasant and offered her local knowledge and information. There were a couple of issues we raised with her on the morning of departure. Over all we had a really enjoyable stay the Cottage suited us as the weather was mostly rain but there was plenty of rooms to relax in. I would highly recommend Sandholme and hope to return .

  • "The property is ideally located in a beautiful village, perfect for isolation and a peaceful break."

There are loads of walks around with stunning views and a great pub over the road with friendly local staff and people. The cottage itself served all our needs for a great family holiday with small children and the wood burning fire makes for a lovely homely touch. Our host met us on arrival and was an extremely pleasant lady, who welcomed us very well and explained everything for us. She even kindly left 3 Easter eggs out for our children, lovely woman.
