The property

Resting within the Upper Calder Valley, a short distance from the bustling town of Hebden Bridge and neighbouring the National Trust property of Hardcastle Crags is this stone-built retreat, Cragside Cottage.

Enjoying a tranquil position with the soundtrack of the nearby Hebden Water to enjoy as you take in the picturesque countryside views, this contemporary-styled accommodation is perfect for couples or friends seeking a refreshing break.

The interior is a seamless blend of character and style, with the exposed beam and Yorkshire stone fireplace complementing the carefully selected furnishings within the open-plan living area.

Step into this space to find a well-equipped kitchen, where the sleek units house everything you could possibly need to cater your own delicious meals after a busy day exploring the countryside setting.

After dinner, sink into the sofa with your loved ones to relax and watch TV or play games whilst keeping cosy in front of the roaring woodburning stove, perfect for those chilly winter evenings.

As the evening draws to a close, venture up the staircase to retire to one of the charming bedrooms, with original stripped floorboards, hand-made bedroom furniture and quality linens, there's ample storage for your personal belongings.

During a balmy afternoon, head to the rear garden and climb the terrace steps to soak up the sun and admire the surroundings views.

If you can tear yourself away, head into Hebden Bridge, where you will find no shortage of bars, restaurants and pubs, as well as arty shops and cafes to explore one sunny afternoon.

The National Trust property of Hardcastle Crags is on your doorstep, this ancient woodland is laced with marked paths for all abilities with plenty to explore and the 19th Century Gibson mill at its heart.

There's plenty for cyclists both on and off road, including the scenic 2nd stage of 2018 Tour de Yorkshire route, or for more leisurely pursuits, a short car journey will take you to Haworth where you can immerse yourself in the history of the Bronte family who lived there, Shibden hall, the home of "Gentleman Jack" Anne Lister is also only a short drive away near Halifax.

Cragside Cottage is a superb base for exploring all that this part of Yorkshire has to offer.

The attractive, little Pennine town of Hebden Bridge sits within the Calderdale area and provides home to the picturesque Rochdale Canal and a delightful Victorian railway station. Excellent walking country, with the National Trust owned Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way close by, this delightful location is also the first 'Walkers are Welcome' town in the UK, a scheme supported by the Ramblers’ Association. Alternatively, scenic drives and fabulous cycling, as featured on 2nd stage of the 2014 Tour de France, 2015 Tour de Yorkshire and 2018 Tour de Yorkshire, can be enjoyed from your doorstep. Journey to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. The area is also a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway, whilst the highly acclaimed Eureka Museum is in Halifax, noted for its unique Piece Hall and its Victorian architecture. The stunning architecture of the Dean Clough complex should also be admired and is just seven miles away. Skipton, “Gateway to the Dales” and Holmfirth, recognised from Last of the Summer Wine, are both easy and scenic car rides away.
