The property

Resting alongside the Liverpool and Leeds canal in the picturesque market town of Skipton, Yorkshire, is Canal View, a traditional stone cottage.

Ideal for two couples or a small family, this eclectic cottage offers an ideal location in the heart of the town and within easy reach to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Stepping into the property, you are greeted by the kitchen/diner, the perfect spot to concoct tasty meals for your group; hosting a gas oven and hob, along with a microwave and a fridge, the kitchen offers all the appliances you need to assist with your self-catering requirements.

A welcoming sitting room hosts an electric fire and leather armchairs and a sofa you can look forward to snuggling up on after a long day of exploring the local area.

When sleep calls, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms and a shower room.

The first bedroom hosts a double bed and ample storage for you to unpack your belongings and the second bedroom is decorated in a bright and airy white with another plush double bed.

Prepare for the day ahead in the shower room, home to a walk-in shower, a basin, a WC and a toasty heated towel rail to keep you warm after a winter walk along the canal.

Spend your morning outside in the courtyard, the perfect place to savour a cup of coffee.

Treat your group to a meal out in one of many delicious eateries in the area such as The Royal Shepherd Inn offering homemade food with local produce in a friendly 17th century pub.

For a spot of history while you eat, visit the characterful Le Caveau Restaurant, a former prison from the 16th century with original beams, barrel vaulted ceilings and exposed stone walls, now offering a fresh British and French fusion menu in the heart of Skipton.

Spend an afternoon on the canal where you can hire boats and take tours along the tranquil waters, or even enjoy afternoon tea with your loved ones as you watch the town go by.

Skipton is renowned for its status as a market town and the market is still operates a few times a week on the cobbled high streets, a charming aspect of the town's culture you won't want to miss.

Take a trip to Skipton Castle and wander the well-kept gardens while marvelling at the 900-year-old architecture, before making your way into the Skipton Castle woods to take in the bountiful nature.

Further afield, you can visit the endearing town of Grassington and explore their museum, quaint shops and many more pubs, restaurants and cafés, or if walking is your style of adventure, make your way into the Yorkshire Dales National Park for some excellent footpaths through the rolling dales.
