  • "We had a very pleasant stay at Ewe cottage."

The location was excellent and the rooms were spacious and clean. I would recommend for staying in Skipton.

  • "Location great 5 - 10 minute walk to all shops/bars/eating out/attractions."

Clean and comfy, just be aware that the staircase can be difficult to navigate even for the able bodied, but I think this is mentioned in the listing. Could probably benefit from a tumble dryer given the unpredictable british weather, but apart from that would wholly recommend and would return.

  • "Hi. Dissapointed with the level of cleanlines s nqmely cooker hood bathroom skirting and corners all over."

Needs a deep clean had to.re wash all dishes before use as strong smell of damp. No logs provided as stated on welcome folder. Tea stains splashes on tiles at sink. Beds were immaculate and very comfy instructions would be an advantage for dishwasher and.perhaps to note that stairs are very steep my mum crawled up them

We are really sorry to hear you found the level of cleanliness to be less than our high standards. We can only apologise for the properties appearance during your stay and are very appreciative of your comments. We will ensure logs are topped up for the wood burner and a deep clean of the property is actioned. We want to ensure all current and future guests enjoy their stay in a clean and comfortable home Kind regards Property Owner

  • "This is the third time we have stayed at Ewe cottage."

Very comfortable, clean and quirky accommodation. Ideal location being a 3 minute walk to Skipton high street. Well equipped kitchen and 3 good sized bedrooms. Unfortunately no back garden and no guest book but otherwise all positive comments. I'm sure we shall return again at some point.

  • "This cottage needs a note about the stairs being unsuitable for the elderly and young children."

The bathroom was great but the kitchen definitely ends an upgrade. The integrated appliances are very dated. A fridge without a freezer compartment and a really dated dishwasher that did not always work. The hob and the oven needed a really good clean. We never found the freezer stated on the list of amenities. The main asset of this cottage is the location,it is so near to shops etc.

  • "This was my second stay at Ewe Cottage."

The cottage was warm, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would ever need. We had an excellent 4 night stay,in what is an ideal central location. Only one very small negative in that it would have been nice to have the option of spare blankets. We would have loved to have left a positive review in the guest book but were unable to find it.

  • "No logs, grate full of ash, traffic noise loud and constant."

Kitchen really quite dirty, cutlery, crockery (some of which is chipped) and glasses had to be washed as they were not clean - possibly because (ancient) dishwasher does not work properly. Kitchen cupboards not clean and neither were the microwave, hob or oven. Bedroom lamp did not work and duvet too small for bed, bedroom shared with a family of woodlice. Bathroom quite disgusting and toilet flush button broken, like the kitchen, it had to be cleaned before we used it. Had we been able to go elsewhere at short notice we would have. Positives? Towels and bedlinen were clean, tea, coffee, marmalade and biscuits were provided. We value cleanliness and this property was not clean and neither do we feel that it was value for money.

We take your comments very seriously and we are extremely sorry to hear that you found the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom unclean. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Best regards, Sophie Property Owner

  • "We really liked the house."

It's cosy, clean and comfortable and warm enough even though the weather was really cold. It was lovely that there was a Christmas tree up. The kitchen had all the facilities we needed and it was nice that we had milk and drinks provided. Thanks for a lovely stay. We had one or two problems though. The top of the toilet flush was broken so it was difficult to flush the loo. It asks for a window in the bathroom to be opened when using the shower. The window traps your fingers though and won't stay up so had to be propped with a toilet roll. The heating stayed on randomly one night and we had to get up to switch it off as we were all too hot. Finally there a a bad leak in the bedroom ceiling (more a problem for the owners than guests although there was a slug there too!) I've taken a photo if you'd like to see it.

Thank you for your review Nancy. We have had the leak repaired in the main bedroom and the toilet flush has also been repaired. I will ensure I get someone to look at the window in the bathroom also. Thank you, Sophie Property Owner

Cosy and very comfortable. The beds are extremely comfy too! Great location but road noise in the front bedrooms loud. Could do with double glazing as windows do not appear to shut properly and let’s a lot of noise in.
