  • "A lovely clean cottage."

Comfortable and easy to live in. The owner was really friendly, helpful and accommodating. The cottage is well situated only 10 minutes walk from the town centre with lots of cafes, bread and cake shops; also a good base for seeing Yorkshire and the Dales. Would highly recommend this property

It's nicely decorated, beautifully clean and more than any other holiday rental I've stayed in, the thought and care that's gone into it makes it genuinely feel like a home from home.

The house is spotless and beds are so comfortable. The owner, Linda, provided a food pack including milk, bread, cakes and wine. The kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs. There is an excellent chip shop and bakery nearby. Would highly recommend Lemongrass.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Lemongrass."

The location was great for us in a quiet street within walking distance of Skipton town centre and a great base to explore the south part of the Yorkshire Dales. The house was well kept and clean. One small point of feedback was that we couldn’t find an indoor dust pan and brush, which would help guests keep the vinyl floors clean. But that is easy to tweak and we used the vacuum cleaner. Thanks again for the enjoyable stay.

  • "We were under the impression that Lemongrass was a more rural location than it actually was."

Parking was chance on street parking which meant we frequently had to park away form the accommodation. This was not ideal, especially when arriving and departing, loading the car in the rain. The accommodation itself was clean, tidy and adequate. We also felt the property was not good value for money. Sorry to say we wouldn't stay here again.

It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Linda met us there to show us around and left a lovely welcome pack which was a great touch and very much appreciated. I contacted Linda to ask if she had a mattress topper for the main bedroom as I could feel the springs and a brand new mattress was delivered that afternoon (she said she wondered if it needed replacing and thanked me for letting her know). Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly book to stay there again - Thank You!

The welcome pack from Linda was a fantastic touch and most welcome. The cottage was exactly as described and in a great location with a local shop round the corner and a short stroll into the town centre. Well located to jump in the car to explore the Dales or just leave the car and take a walk through the Castle Woods and then enjoy the ample pubs eateries in the town centre before strolling back and relaxing back in the cottage! The living room was a good size and comfortable, a good kitchen with everything you need. We will look to book again in 2019!

We found the proprietors very helpful and accommodating. We found however, that it would have found it easier to use the home’s appliances if instruction mannels’ very available (i.e we never did discover how to work the gas fire). About the location

SKIPTON

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. The town also marks the staring point for Tour de Yorkshire, a major international cycle race held every year. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
