The property

Located on the edges of the scenic Yorkshire Dales National Park in Skipton, North Yorkshire, is the delightful, terraced cottage, No19.

Enjoying tranquil, leafy scenery yet right in the heart of this lovely market town. Set over two floors and sleeping up to two guests, No19 is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic break to the Yorkshire Dales.

This lovely stone cottage is comfortably furnished with an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary furniture designed to make you feel both at home and at ease.

With such a wide choice of bars and restaurants within a short walk of the cottage, you could eat out every day of the week from fine dining to fish and chips.

But if home cooking is your choice – and why not with all the award winning butchers, artisan bakers and delis nearby - the well-equipped kitchen/diner has all you need to whip up a delicious meal in your home from home for your loved one as they set the table and open a bottle of fizz.

Settle down around the dining table to tuck-in to the fruits of your labour as you toast to a wonderful holiday.

Enjoy an evening drink out on the stone-flagged rear terrace, where you can discuss plans for the days ahead as the brook flows past below you.

As the evening cools, head to the sitting room where you can snuggle up on the sofa in front of the traditional cast iron stove - gas fueled so all the romance without the hassle.

Climb the stairs to the first floor, where you can treat yourself to a hot, soothing soak in the bath paired with your favourite book before popping on fresh pyjamas and heading to a well earned rest in the comfortable king size bed.

Kick-start your day with a refreshing shower, followed by morning coffee and pastries from one of the local artisan bakers or take advantage of Skiptons thriving café culture and spoil yourselves with a delicious breakfast prepared for you.

Take a stroll along the canal side, perhaps to Gargrave, or hire a boat for the day to explore some of Skiptons industrial past with its old mill buildings, many now beautifully restored, and enjoy the variety of colourful narrowboats along the way and you will soon find yourself out in the lovely surrounding countryside whichever direction you choose.

Explore the lovely nearby towns of Ilkley and Harrogate with their cafes, gardens and antique shops or hop on a train to Leeds for a spot of city life.

The renowned dales town of Grassington is just up the road and is a great place to start your Yorkshire Dales adventure.

Why not take a local bus and enjoy the scenery or head further up to the beautiful village of Buckden where there are walks to suit every level in glorious countryside.

For a relaxing break in the heart of Skipton come and enjoy the tranquil setting of No19.

About the location

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
