  • "The cabin was well located just outside the local town."

Very quiet and perfect for a little get away. It was spacious with a very comfortable double bed and two singles. My only complaint is that is could really do with modernisation. The cabin itself smelt slightly worn and a few items like plates, carpet and Hoover could do with being replaced. Other than that it was a lovely trip and I'd happily rebook

  • "Loved the rural location."

My partner has included a review of the lodge on her blog here: http://woofwagwalk.co.uk/a-dog-in-the-dales-part-2-woods-and-waterfalls/

  • "Our trip to Beech Lodge was absolutely perfect and we loved every second of it."

I was after a peaceful, stress-free holiday and that's what I got. The lodge is right in the middle of no where with no phonr signal and no Wi-Fi, perfect for keeping stress away. The countryside surrounding the area was beautiful and some days we could walk for hours and hours without seeing another person. The lodge itself was ideal for the two of us and our dog, Ned. Lots of cooking equipment there to use and the bath was huge, which was great because we were always hungry and muddy! Overall, I haven't got a negative thing to say. Very very happy.

About the location

MASHAM

Ripon 9 miles; Bedale 6 miles; Northallerton 14 miles.

The historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday and Saturday market is held. There are lots of walks around the area, including a 10-mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known perhaps as the home of two breweries Theakstons of Old Peculiar fame and the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons
