The property

This is a superb converted detached barn with a hot tub which is situated in the grounds of the owner’s home, in a beautifully quiet and peaceful location near the pretty village of Oxenhope.

Ideal for a tranquil break away, this beautifully-appointed cottage is situated on high ground, perfectly positioned to take advantage of the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with every room overlooking the valley to the hills beyond.

Inside, the open plan accommodation offers an open-beamed ceiling, a sitting area, comfy sofas, a well-equipped kitchen and a large dining table.

There is even a welcoming woodburning stove to warm you up on chilly winter nights, after a day’s activities in the Yorkshire countryside.

On the ground floor there is also a double bedroom and a luxurious bathroom with underfloor heating, complete with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

Upstairs you will find the spacious master bedroom, which also has an adjoining open plan dressing area with spectacular views where you can catch the sun setting over the hills.

Outside, the spacious decked area is a perfect spot to catch the sun or unwind at the end of the day, whilst barbecuing or sipping a cooling drink.

The inviting hot tub is just perfect for soaking tired legs, whilst taking in the magnificent views.

There are plenty of delightful walks from the doorstep, across the hills and valleys in the Yorkshire countryside.

If you are feeling energetic, why not take the footpath outside the cottage, over the hills to Hebden Bridge to enjoy the independent shops, bars and restaurants?

You can then catch the local bus back to Oxenhope, which drops you off at the bottom of the lane to the cottage.

For a more leisurely walk, the cottage is only ten minutes from the local pub and village shop.

Nearby Haworth, formerly the home of the Bronte sisters has much to offer, including shops, restaurants, regular festivals and a steam railway.

The market town of Skipton is within easy reach, with its cobbled streets and delightful castle, whilst further afield is the Victorian spa town of Harrogate, boasting fabulous shops, an excellent theatre and the Royal Pump Room Museum.

This is a superb holiday cottage, perfect for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area at any time of the year.

About the location

OXENHOPE

Haworth 2 miles; Hebden Bridge 6 miles; Skipton 14 miles.

The small village of Oxenhope lies amid wonderful scenery, and offers the chance to take advantage of the multitude of walks in the area. The village, with its shops, churches and pubs, is home to the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, which runs on a regular basis to Haworth and on down to Keighley. The area was made famous by the Bronte sisters, and the outstanding countryside was famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. The area abounds with popular places to visit; the cobbled streets of Haworth, the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds.
