• "Blackrock Gem is such a beautiful and amazing property."

  From the moment you walk in you are stunned by its beautiful design, cleanliness, modern interior and welcoming atmosphere. You are greeted with a lovely welcome platter, local bread, butter, croissants, pancakes, wine…just a wonderful surprise after a very long journey. The kitchen has everything you could ever need, the bathrooms are amazing, modern and with fabulous baths and showers. The living room is spacious and comfortable and the dining room perfect. The bedrooms and beds are just dreamy. We really slept well the entire week. To top everything off the Hot Tub and well designed garden, wow! We were a party of 5 and two dogs, we had a restful and enjoyable week. A stunning property in a stunning part of Wales.

• "Black Rock Gem is a modern fairly spacious detached holiday property in a good location however for a five star rating and the price charged for this we found the property to be lacking in some areas ."

  As we entered the hallway the first thing to greet us was a mop, bucket and Henry Hoover we actually thought the cleaners were still there. Cleanliness was ok generally but some areas missed. The upstairs toilet had not been cleaned properly around the rim , drawers in the bathroom had old toothpaste and dead moths inside , handprints on glass balcony and glass door to lounge , dirty extractor fan and hood , the dishwasher was full of pots although they were clean. Dead plants on balcony . No hand wash in bathrooms. Wooden food skewer under coffee table . Bedrooms are large and beds are comfy however there are no dressing tables or chairs to sit and dry hair and most annoying there are no bedside table lamps very odd not great having to get in bed in the dark ! The downstairs toilet seat is too small for the bowl which means you sit half on the seat and half on the bowl rim , uncomfortable and unhygienic. Garden is a narrow corridor around the house which is secure but cluttered with ornaments, no pergola as stated in listing . Driveway is tricky for getting in and out onto the main road and to fit four cars they would need to be tiny. A decent property overall but needs attention to facilities and cleanliness to earn a five star rating , unfortunately cannot attach photos to this review.

In response to your comments: • The mop, bucket and Henry Hoover are intentionally provided, as large families often stay for longer periods of time. They are there so guests have everything they need to deal with any accidental spills or little mishaps during their stay. • We’re sorry to hear you felt some areas had been missed during cleaning. This certainly isn’t the standard we aim for, and your comments have been shared with our housekeeping team. • Hand wash is provided in all of the bathrooms, as well as the kitchen. • The bedrooms have been designed to make the best use of the available space, which is why dressing tables aren’t currently provided. We do appreciate your feedback regarding bedside lamps, and these will be added to all bedrooms within the next week. • Thank you for highlighting the downstairs toilet seat. We’ll be checking this to ensure everything is as it should be. • Thank you also for your feedback regarding the garden. A new pergola will be installed within the next week. • We regularly accommodate four vehicles on the driveway. As with any property, this will naturally depend on the size of the vehicles and how they are parked. • "Wow!! What an amazing house, no corners cut here"

• "Very nice property with excellent WiFi and entertainment facilities, with ten residents and two bathrooms an extra loo would have been nice."

  Only basic instructions were left for waste disposal and we were left with full bins and no instructions when to put them out as the car parking blocked the route. Having made those points I have a feeling we may be back, such a perfect position to visit all the local attractions.

• "Fabulous property with plenty of room."

  Hosts were great with communication. Fish shop and shop close with a pub just about 0.5 miles away. Short walk to the beach and bus service close. Already decided to come back when the weather is better.

• "Would have been a 4."

  5 star but you can't give that. Lovely accommodation which is clean and spacious. Missing those extra touches such as a tea towels for the kitchen, hand towel for bathroom and soap for sinks. These are all things I've never had to bring before which we had to rush out to buy which wasn't great. Apart from that I would recommend.

• "A Gem of a place in Morfa Bychan!"

  Blackrock Gem truly lives up to its name, a home from home in every sense. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed. The detached house is beautifully kept, comfortable and homely, with everything you could possibly need for a perfect getaway. It’s also dog-friendly, which made it even more special for us, our chocolate lab loved it just as much as we did. The hot tub was incredible, the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring the stunning local area. The location couldn’t be better either: close to the beach for long walks and just a short stroll to The Schooner Fish Bar, which was excellent. All in all, Blackrock Gem is exactly that, a little gem on the Welsh coast. We loved our stay and definitely feel a return is on the cards!

• "Blackrock Gem really is a gem of property."

  We are a party of 7 and 2 dogs and the property had everything we needed. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom was a must for my less mobile mum . The lounge and dining room accommodated us all . The kitchen was well equipped for any event . We all commented how well we slept on the very comfortable mattresses. We all enjoyed the hot tub at different times during our stay . Close enough to walk to the beach, golf on your doorstep , Black Rock Sands Beach bar a short walk away , fish and chips and convenience store two doors away . We ventured to Portmerion and Criccieth 15 minute drive away and braved Zipworld 30 minute drive away . Well placed and perfect property for lovely break in Wales

• "Beautiful house, very modern and well equipped especially the kitchen, nice to have more than enough crockery, cutlery and preparation knives."

  All beds were comfy, but the single one needs a new mattress, this is not a complaint just an observation as my grandson found it uncomfortable, and lumpy, but we were only there for three nights so it was ok and it wouldn’t stop us going back again. Outside space was great, enough chairs with two tables so weather permitting could eat outside.

• "We were 4 couples who booked this cottage for a relaxing long weekend with our dogs."

  The cottage was gorgeous however in terms of facilities I gave it 9/10 only because there were only 2 bathrooms and toiled gor 8 adults and this is not enough.

  Everything we needed was provided and the beds were really comfortable. The spaciousness of the property meant that we could have our own space…..a must when our group had an age range of nineteen to seventy six.

• "We booked Black Rock Gem for a family birthday celebration and it did not disappoint."

  The contact with the owner before and during our stay was very welcoming and so helpful. When we arrived the property was spotless, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the owners had thought of every detail to make the stay perfect. The location was ideal a short walk to the beautiful Black Rock Sands. Local convenience store and fish and chip shop were really useful and we had a very warm welcome from the Black Rock Beach Club where we had drinks and a lovely meal. Would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the property and location. Thank you again to our host that couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

• "An absolutely superb place to stay, very clean,very modern and very comfortable, the beds especially comfy we slept like logs."

  The black rock sands beach is only 3 mins away in your car and it is a stunning beach for walking the dogs plus only 5 mins the other way of porthmadog town centre with loads of independent shops plus a spar,Tesco,lidles and aldi. All in all a fantastic house to stay in I look forward to visiting again .
